Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby tubby » Sun Sep 23, 2007 4:31 pm

I think i may have been a bit harsh yesterady. If Man Utd and Chelsea draw today (which looks the likley outcome) then we will still be 3rd as we have a decent goal difference.

But I still stand by my rant in regards to us not being able to create chances when we want to finish of a team.

We're against Wigan away next and i expect to see Rafa start with his strongest side.

*as for the carling cup, i'd put out the reserves and wouldn't bother

You know mate, what people fail to realize is that we had a damn good line up yesterday. It's not like we're life dependent on Torres.

The fact that people seem to be ignoring is that our players have not performed. Yes Benitez made a mistake by not starting Torres, but apart from him the team that we had was damn good. Certainly more than enough to beat a poor Birmingham side.

Of course the manager is responsible for many things, but the players are also as well. And nobody has said feck all in regard to their 3rd poor display in a row.

Our players need a kick up the :censored: as well. Teams aren't going to roll over like Derby did.

i also don't think its any coincidence that when Gerard is off form we struggle also. Hopefully neither Gerrard OR Torres will play tuesday and perhaps it would be a good chance to get some first team football for our youngsters and players coming back from injury.

Yah Mikel is gone.

Two-footed lunge.

Still hoping for a 0-0 though.

We'll never win the Prem unless we install video boards.

We play Wigan next.

They concern Manhattan because I've heard that Martin Offiah is a great player.

What a load of ''ullocks, ref allowed United to play half-a-minute longer than he should have, and they score.

If perhaps you read this thread rather than just studying your back orifice maybe you would have read that I still think we can win the league. Unlike you, I seem to have a little faith. I also said I don't blame Rafa.

So the negativity seems to eminate from you rather than me.

Your statistic states that the team has made progress, so why is there all the need for such negativity?

Cast your mind back to three weeks ago, this forum was full of ice cream cones and bright sunshine weather. A few bad results and the confidence is shattered, the self belief is gone and people have had their wind taken out of their sails.

Why do you have little faith? I think some people (this may include you or it may not) got overexcited by the very good start to the season and as a consequence are expecting too much. Would finishing second, six points behind the league winners be such a bad finish? Its steady progress after all is it not?

I’ve not said you have blamed Rafa, and how can there be negativity emerging from me, when I’m rather upbeat and still believe the title race is wide open?

This post will be my last contribution as you don’t seem capable of controlling yourself on the Internet, but it will be very interesting to see what the reaction is if/when we beat Reading and Wigan.

I get the impression this season will be filled with mixed emotions along the way in both extremes and not much else. Little or no sense of balance or perspective.

I don't have little faith, if you read it carefully, it says I have a little faith that we will win the league unlike you. To say as you do that you don't  believe we can win the league is pretty negative in my view and hardly upbeat.

The title race is still open ? So why have you dismissed Liverpools chances of winning the title?

You seem a very two faced individual, PMing me an apology saying that you are very sorry and then starting again with the can't control myself insults.

You started the personal attacks not me, I didn't say you are a T0SSER or mention the fact that your head is up your a$$ until you had attacked me. Keep looking at your backside though, I am sure you will see the sun shine sooner or later.

Not sure of fowler....but bellamy is deffo better than voronin.

In terms of footballing ability yes. However Bellamy's return last season was woeful, seven goals was it?

Maybe it had to do with him not having any continuous run in the team...  ???

Even Cisse scored more without a long run in the team.

He was poor and ineffective.

It looks as though you haven’t explained yourself properly either, as you did not state that’s what you meant, it seems we both could be clearer when we post so there is no misunderstanding in the future. I have not said we cannot win the league, where have I said this?

I’m not really in a position to call it at the moment as only six matches have passed so far this season. I haven’t dismissed the lad’s chances, I was asking you a question whether or not second and a six point finish would be such a bad feat this season?

I messaged you shortly before the last post I made and then was it only after I posted it, did we settle the differences, and that's hardly two faced.

I certainly don’t feel there is anything else that needs addressing, I have apologised and the case is closed as far as I am concerned. I explained that my comments were not directed at you, but to everyone, there was nothing personal about them whatsoever.

This is not an issue with me at all, if you have anything further to say, please PM me, it’s not worth bringing it up in a discussion and I do not come here to bicker with people.

I’ll say no more, it’s for the best.
