Im not as worried as I thought I would be. Rafas put his foot down and decided to make changes which paco doesnt like. The result? best start to the premiership in ages ! Paco keeps them in top condition to last the season, so why did the players look knackered at the START of last season? Dont get me wrong, without a doubt the success we have had hes played a big part in but paco or rafa? no brainer for me. So far so good, in rafa I trust !

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez fell out with his number two Pako Ayestaran because he was too friendly with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho - Various newspapers.

Hope you don't Paco. If you do, you're a cunt.

Former Valencia trainer Paco de Miguel looks set to takeover as Rafa Benitez's number 2 after the "surprise" departure of Pako Ayesteran.

de Miguel, who injured his arm in the infamous brawl between Inter Milan and Valencia players last season, took over from Pako in today's warm up against Derby.

There's still no confirmation from Anfield on de Miguel's permanent appointment.
  Location: Johannesburg...

yes it looks like de Miguel will replace paco asap...

sad to see an important figure leaving...

we think there is presure being a fan,  but honestly we have no idea what goes on behind the walls of a football club   ???

Is it not a tad bit gullible and silly to believe a short sentence with ‘various newspapers’? As for Paco being a (insert-profaneness), I feel that’s a bit harsh is it not? After all he has played an instrumental role in the recent successes of the club. I doubt Rafa and Paco would have fallen out over such a minor issue of Paco befriending Mourinho.

It wasn't befriending him - it was the fact he went over an virtually bummed him after the Potugese c*nt had robbed us again.

Couldn't he have waited until he was out of the public eye at least?

I'm 100% behind Rafa on this - we cannot have dissension in the ranks!

got to disagree with you wilhelmsson. if pako has left us to join chelsea, then he is a cunt. especially as he is supposed to be a very good friend of rafa's.

i do agree with you about not listening to the rumours though. personally i think it is all bo.llocks. it's just typical :censored: stirring journalism.

One time, I saw a man looking at me, yes, with his eyes. And then, he, he picked up a tube. And he looked, in the tube, and he made the moon big, inside the tube. The moon big inside a tube! Waahaha... Aaah. Telescope.

How many people on here disagreed with the Heinze situation? I was told to be quiet when I took exception to the rumours, I was told by many members, and it was the perfect deal for Liverpool’s LB ‘problem’ and the Heinze believed Liverpool was his perfect destination.

Now the shoe lies well and truly on the other foot I guess some Liverpool fans do not like it? Perhaps Chelsea is the ideal destination for Paco and maybe Chelsea feel Paco can fill a void, whatever his decision, I like the man and wish him all the best.

Don't see why people are getting so excited about this to be honest.  FFS it's only the fitness coach who has left.  I know his official role was 'assistant manager', but I seriously doubt he had anything to do with tactics or decisions about new signings.  Benitez strikes me as the type who'd assume complete control of those areas.  I'm sure there are hundreds of people just as qualified and as good at filling the fitness coach's role as Ayesteran.  IMO if it pi.ssed him off that Rafa changed the pre-season schedule then tough, so far Benitez's decision looks to be the right one.  I don't think this change in the back-room staff will make any difference to our chances of silverware this season.

As for Ayesteran being linked with Chelsea and United, so what?  As far as I'm concerned there doesn't look to be anything wrong with the conditioning of the players from those two clubs - both have won the league recently showing great stamina and consistency in their performances.  What's Ayesteran realistically going to be able to add to that?  Feck all I suspect.  I've not personally watched Ayesteran in action at Melwood, but if he truly was the training ground wizzard that some are making out then I'm sure Benitez would have moved quickly to prevent their disagreements spiralling out of control before now.

It has been apparent for a long time that the person Benitez consults regarding tactics on the Liverpool bench is Alex Miller.  You never saw him talking to Ayesteran during games, it was always Miller, which I always found odd considering Ayesteran's title was 'assistant manager'.

Firstly, happy birthday again  :)

Second, it's true that most of the chat of Rafa during a match is with Miller. It's also true that Pako was the man that explained to the player before getting up from the bench what he wanted of him.

Pako as far as I can tell was the one who spotted Sissoko, Fabio Aurelio, and Mark Gonzalez, I mean when they were absolutely nobody, before Liverpool and Valencia. And he also prepares all the training planning, and kept track of rotations in players. He's aswell a fitness coach, and he is advisor of a few profesional cyclists, apart from having all the diplomas as a coach. I dunno up there, but there are not many as qualified as him down here.

Leaving to Chelsea is something unlikely IMHO, and it would be a sentimental blow to me, as I didn't only see Pako as a man of Rafa, but a man of the club. Plus, I don't want in the ranks of Chelsea a man that knows well our weakspots.

IMHO the cameras are put only in the big men like Rafa, Wenger or Mou, but this background staff is also important in the success.

If he eventually stays, that would be a very typical Spanish attitude (big angryness then calm down) and I'd be very happy.
