Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Thats the thing...

Its all well and good and one thing altogether getting the players up to an optimum level of fitness...entirely another keeping them at that peak throughout the whole campaign.  If they are fresh as daisies in the last knockings of the season, what good is it if they are out of the league by Halloween. Needs to be measured over months...not weeks of intensive stamina sapping fitness training. Maybe Rafa has decided that the best policy is to allow the players (the whole squad) time to build up their stamina in a more natural way, through actually playing more often alongside the usual (normal) way of toning up. Rather than have it drilled into them in punishing sessions.

Just when things where going to good to be true another someone throws another spanner in the bloody works.
I cant see anything positive from this atall.
Hope they have a break and a think about things and sort their differences out.

Disagree. Notice that the article states that they've had disagreements for a while and before the season started, yet we've had a good start.

It was very obvious that in order to sustain a challenge for the league title, changes needed to be made. Ayesteran by the looks of it wasn't willing to make such changes.

Remember that Benitez said that the training methods used previously were far too intense and that he wanted to see whether or not we can start better with a change in training.

In any case we don't know the full details on what Rafa and Pako have had disagreements on.

But from what I've read from both of these men, I can see that they have different views on this season. Pako believes that we aren't strong enough to battle on all four fronts and that we can't win the league. Rafa on the other hand is far more optimistic and believes that we have the squad to do so.

You can't have a doubting influence in the team regardless of who that is.

As Sabre mentioned,Pako is an old school fella who probably wasn't keen on making changes.

We always say no player is bigger than the club, well no employee in general is bigger than club. That includes Benitez and Pako.

Its just been on Radio City.  rafa said nothing has been decided but he had expressed he may leave.

Not good peeps
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

BBC Transfer page:

1507: A Liverpool departure... behind the scenes. Rafael Benitez's right-hand man Paco Ayesteran is heading for the exit. Benitez said: "Paco has told me he wants to leave, apart from that I cannot say any more. We will have to assess the situation."

Nothing confirmed, I didn't see any quotes in the article. It's speculative.

But I don't really care anyway, people disagree - deal with it.
