The Advanced forum was a wasted opportunity any spammer could and often has quickly racked up 100 posts thus gaining entry. Time served and quality of posts would have been a better measure of when someone was granted the ability to post in the advanced section .
Aye, it never got off the ground.
The original idea was to keep the spammers and arguements away from the decent football posts but it was badly thought out, badly executed (by me, I hasten to add) and poorly supported once it was launched (ahem
). It didn't help that it was interrupted by the forum as a type of newkit apartheid, and sunk like a lead balloon.A missed opportunity and I'd say it was a great lesson learned except when did we ever learn from our mistakes on this forum?
