still, all can be forgiven if kop11 is right and he is staying.  :) .

I feel the Paco ‘situation’ and the Heinze situation are very similar, I can only imagine those who refuse to accept the similarity between the two affairs are trying to a) cover up their denial of being hypocritical b) have finally realised the shoe is well and truly on the other foot.

Paco is friends with Benitez and has little obligation to Liverpool other than being an assistant manager. Paco was born and raised in Northern Spain, not Liverpool. If Paco wants to head to Stamford Bridge and work alongside Mourinho, then this is his prerogative and he is entitled to do so IMO.

Also who is to say Paco has actually fallen out with Rafa? Paco might want to pursue a managerial career of his own. For all us fans know, the media could be putting a typical sensationalist spin on events. There is little evidence (from what I have seen) which suggests Rafa and Paco have fallen out over disagreement with tactics/formations/training regimes etc.

If Paco, stays then he stays, if he leaves then he leaves the club, I won’t lose much sleep over it, after all the likes of Shankly, Paisley and Fagan have left Liverpool and the club remains in tact and progressing well under Rafa Benitez.

would you ever get over you heinze issue? ??? let it go man, ur bitterness will eat you up!

Pako Ayesteran to remain on leave

Sep 12 2007 by Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL hope to scupper any possible move by Chelsea or Manchester United for Pako Ayesteran by agreeing a period of ‘gardening leave’ for the former assistant.

Ayesteran is in the process of severing his ties at Anfield, but it’s feared Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson are ready to pounce for his services.

Talks have been ongoing to establish whether the ex-Anfield number two will have the right to join another club this season when his period on Merseyside ends.

Anfield boss Rafa Benitez is understandably anxious to ensure his trusted lieutenant isn’t delivered into the hands of his Premiership rivals – especially as he’s been privy to so much tactical and technical information during the course of his time at Anfield.

It’s a sad end to Ayesteran’s Liverpool career as he gave the club great service, and it should be noted suggestions of Chelsea and United interest remains little more than speculation.

I know its speculation but sir exlax has got some fuckin cheek to try and get Pako after not letting Heinze join us. At least that bloke in London has managed to do what every football supporter in the country wants to do and that is kick him in the bollox  :grinning:
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

Even though Pako and Rafa fell out, Pako never fell out with the club, the players or the supports. I would be very surprised if he went to one of our rivals.

All gutter journo speculation. The Alchy has Quiros and Maureen has his mini me, I don't think either would rock the boat by taking on Pako.

Same here, plus, it CAN'T happen. In other leagues a coach of one team CAN'T join another team in the same season for obvious reasons.

I don't think it's going to happen anyway.

Not really bothered where he ends up to be honest, if he thinks he will be joining a better club in either of them then so be it, Liverpool Football Club will go on without him and the foundations he may of laid will be carried on and improved by who ever Rafa decides is worthy of the post.

The difference with Heinze was obviously he was a player not some trainer/dietitian, the Man U fans were up in arms about it for that reason, the same way I would be if this was one of our players allegedly going to join them.

Let him dig his "hill" up and take it with him for all I care.

Hope he doesn't and to be honest can't see him doing it.

Don't know how many people know this but Paco never ever drove to Melwood. He got the train in every day in his full Liverpool gear (trackie and polo top) and I used to see him quite regularly on the trains. Only spoke to him once, very private man and kept himself to himself.

Don't know why he used the trains, just did.
