Finnan injured

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby maypaxvobiscum » Thu Sep 06, 2007 6:32 am

Republic of Ireland defender Steve Finnan has been ruled out of his country's crunch Euro 2008 qualifier in Slovakia on Saturday with a knee injury.

The news will come as a blow to Republic boss Steve Staunton, who is already without Newcastle full-back Stephen Carr.

However Staunton remains hopeful that Finnan will return to fitness in time for next Wednesday's clash with the Czech Republic in Prague.

Staunton said: 'He will stay in Liverpool for treatment and we will continue to monitor his progress.

'If he improves he will join us in Prague.'

He can't be too bad if he's saying if he improves, he'll meet us in Prague.
Stan's probably just letting him rest to do us a favour. :D

Torres is pretty, he'll pull through. Gerrard is just lulling 'em into a false sense of security and then, BAM, he'll be all good. Just you watch. Just you see.

We've only a bunch of kids playing for us now, and players like Finnan are few and far between for us. I'm not too worried anyway, because Staunton is the wrong man for the job. Can't see him getting us to the finals. Anyway, internationals are a bunch of bollox now. I cringe when it breaks up the Premiershp for two b'stard weeks.

Torres is ok , Finnan is ok but will be rested

Gerrard will be ok........at the end of the day its only a toe, they dont even treat toes at hospitals anymore, they just say it will be ok in two weeks.

Gerrard has rested for 2 weeks so by now it should be ok.

yeah i think torres is pretty too, but sometimes he's ugly... It's quite strange his appearance... btw I'm straight though...  :D ... but that doesn't make him invulnerable or something...

how come you're sucking your thumb though... if that is your own pic...

Hopefully just a case of 'manc international syndrome' ie he'll be fit in time for the next Premiership game. Only difference is they feign injuries or report made up ones
