It's a clear observation, the NOTW is a pile of w@nk.
There is nothing to discern.

Needless to say, it took me half a second to accept it. Why shouldn't I? I love my job. Was nothing really 'wrong' with my old job but what would you have all done if you were me?
There you go. I've been on the dole in the not too far past and NOBODY wants that - believe me. When you get offered the chance I was given, you take it. So he's doing what he has to do as far as I'm concerned. Some people are motivated by money, others aren't, but everybody has to make a living for themselves. I'll bet even Bill Gates has bills to pay.
Okay, I wasn't being offered a job in a company which has extremely questionable morals with a reputation lower than a snake's belly, but there's still a point to what I have wrote above, surely you can see that?
Dave Usher is a Liverpool fan who let's face it, is, was and has been in the know for years. Rick Parry and Jamie Carragher regularly read his fanzine for a start, Neil Mellor used to always give detailed interviews to him when he was playing for us, he's a bit of an 'inside man' on the club and someone who I would say you can trust 100% when he says something about Liverpool FC.
Bascombe considered how a lot of fans would take his decision so I'm guessing that this is not something he has done lightly because of this link with the two rags in question.
I say just let him get on with it. It's really up to yourselves whether you wish him well or not, but I don't blame the lad for taking the job. Technically, it's not the s*n newspaper he's going to work for, and like the poster above said, how far do you take this? Boycotting Sky as well? Where does it all end?
For example, there's a good chance that someone on this forum knows someone who has fought and died in Iraq. Now I've read somewhere that Tom Hicks supported George W. Bush's Presidential campaign with a considerable amount of money. And isn't it widely considered by some quarters that the Iraq invasion was based on lies and bullshit from George W. Bush? A pointless war, even more innocent bloodshed. So do you boycott Tom Hicks as well, cause he helped Bush get in?
I'm really not being insensitive and maybe that's not the best example admittedly, but how far do you go and where does it realistically end..?
The HJC campaign to boycott the rag in question has rightly built up a huge awareness over the last 20 years that people from all over the UK at the very least know that Liverpool Football Club will never forgive the s*n newspaper. I'm not suggesting that I'm not aware that the NOTW does have links with the gutter rag. But the campaign is directed against the s*n. And I read neither newspaper anyway.
There are for and against aruments in this case and it could go on all night. Some very good points have been made here, some that won't agree with mine. Yes, this is a sensitive issue, different people will feel differently on the subject, clearly. A guy who writes on the club and who's opinion we all have trusted over the last few years could be perceived as a traitor for want of a better word but it might be worth having a look at what he had to think about as well and seeing how he came to his decision.
I think it's just come down to the fact that he did what he had to do. You all make your own minds up. Just protest by not reading his articles if that's how you feel. Clearly I won't be any more, regardless of how I feel about him leaving his Echo job to further his career.

Yeah you and 70'000 other people , but what you're all really saying is
"I just disagree with his decision and won't admit to reading anything he writes in future."
All of you can't f'ucking wait to read his first article in the NOTW.
Say what yer like but all of you (and you know who you are) down inside know I'm telling it as it is.
