We should really have 12 points.

Chelsea will win 1-0 tomorrow.

John Terry will throw the ball into the net while Malouda wrestles the goalkeeper to the ground.

Despite the protests of the Villa players, the referee Rob Styles allows the goal.

again well done to us, we are surely becoming the invincibles again. i know the trademark statement "its too early" but i have to go all in after seeing the perfomances of our team relative to the performances of the man(ia)cs and chavski.

yes it is only 4 games for us, and interestingly it will be 5 for our fiercest rivals for the title; guys we are top of the league for the first time in about 5 yrs and this is commendable and worth the celebration. i am not saying we have already won no 19 but hey we have proved that we are the team to beat this season. if u analysed todays game at old trafford then you would see that our perfomance is worth all the praise..nuff respect to Rafa and the lads.

WE WILL BE THE CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND AT THE END OF THE SEASON

...on a smaller scale, the champions of Europe as well,

....and sliding down the scale, the FA champions too

.....and thats not being optimistic, rather REALISTIC:D

Nice to finally be top of the league again, can't believe it has been 5 years since we last done it. I know some fans will get carried away and the phone in's on Radio City were a testament to that last night when there were reds on there claiming that the Premier League already "has our name on it".

Highly Embrassing to say the least.

Rafa is urging fans to not get carried away and to stay cautious, after all Derby (H) and Sunderland (A) are two newly promoted teams and we would of all been screaming blue murder if we didn't pick up maximum points from these two fixtures. The opening day fixture is the best result for me. I have no doubt that in previous years this would of been a game we would of not picked up maximum points, especially on the first day of the season with our notorious bad starts. The Chelsea game, although the end result wasn't correct, was a brilliant performance by the team and I never expected us to lose, something that cannot be said of previous years.

So 4 games in, top of the league with 10 points, forgive me for asking, but can we win it?

For me, I'd say possibly, after the fanfare of last year, I am airing on the side of caution and taking each game as it comes. Game by game.

This season we actually have four strikers who can score goals in Crouch, Voronin, Kuyt and the golden boy Fernando Torres. With these we always have a good chance of winning games. Coupled with the fact we have a great goalscoring midfielder in Steven Gerrard and our attacking instincts and ability to create things has risen dramatically. Then you look at our midfield, were most games are won or lost, and its not far off the chant of the "best (central)midfield in the world". Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, and Maschereno are all world class midfielders in my opinion and with Sissoko being such a destoyer he can always claim a place.

Babel, Pennant, Yossi, Riise, and Kewell are all good solid players and offer us strength in depth.

The fact is this year we have a extremely strong squad and unlike previous seasons, so far it doesn't seem like we have an obvious weak spot.

Wether we can sustain a title challenge is another matter.

Manchester showed that the supposed gap between Chelsea and the other clubs was not as big as many thought last year.

I think there are not that many differences between the top clubs, and anyone can win. With our deeper squad, we have more chances this year. And I don't see unrealistic to achieve that. But that will be done week by week.

When I was a kid, news of Liverpool spanking some team 4-0, and being in the top of the league was not strange, but a normal thing. Hope it becomes a normal thing again (although to be honest, it's more difficult to see that kind of scores in nowadays football, no matter the country)

Thats the best way to approach this season, one game at a time. One of the big factors will be how we cope under the pressure should we at any time be made favourites, I would much rather we just go  on winning games and then see where we are nearer the end of the season. Great win and team performance against a very poor Derby side, but we would do well to remember Man U thrashed Ipswich 9-0 one season and didn't win the title.

We have had a fantastic start and agree with all the comments. there is something special about this season. But next game is a good test for us away to pompy. But 1 game at a time and maybe just maybe dreams could come true.
