Diouf - No chance

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby stapo1000 » Sat Jul 24, 2004 5:02 pm

Gerrard Houllier described diouf as his biggest disappointment when in charge of liverpool. Diouf was the first no.9 not to score a league goal in a season for us. now, wit beni in charge he isnt even gettin a squad number. does anyone not think this is a bit unfair, even if he was disappointing, seeing as most players have been at least given a chance to prove themselves to the new manager. he could still have a lot to offer...
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

Dont need him, get him off the wage bill and bring in a centre half and a top midfielder
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

Nows not the time for bein 'fair'. If we were to do that it'd be a gamble and we cant afford to do that. A player who costs 10m an comes to play for a club as big as Liverpool shouldn't need another chance to prove himself. Besides hes ******.

Well if thats you're attitude, why is Biscan being givin somewhat a chance to prove himself?

Biscan is a much worse player than Diouf, yet Diouf isn't getting a chance really. That's not even the point, hes been getting treated unfairly too, not even givin a number...id take him any day over Biscan.

in france he played forward, with a big impact on the game, lots of goals and assists, i think in liverpool houiller asked him to defend the right side, maybe he spend too much stamania when defending and couldn't bring something offensively

diouf is not a right midfielder and i think its safe to say were well covered in the striking department. his wages are too high for a player who will surely be behind at least 3 other players in the pecking order. i actually quite like diouff but think he shines better when he is the centre of attention as he is for his country and when he was at lens. i think he is probably better suited to being one of the best players at a smaller club than a fringe player at a big club where his confidence will evaporate.

hes sure to score against us if we come up against him tho!!! :(

Wild guess.

I wonder if  Doiuf didn't get along with the major stars on the club. They might have told RB that Doiuf wasn't a team guy.
Watch old footage and you'll notice a lot of people ignoring his congratulations, after they themselves had scored.

He was 10 million and that's a lot of $$ to throw away, even for LFC.No hair.No number and no job

Just a guess! :p

It's not just his lack of success on the field that have caused problems for Diouf. There have been consistent murmurings about his love of partying, antics with women etc. If he had been English, the papers would have had a field day with a lot of stuff he has supposedly got up to.

It's probably his lack of professionalism that has brought the curtain down on his Anfield career.I don't think he was given a real chance in his natural position, but he is now surplus to requirements.

Agree with most of the posts on here, he has had plenty of chances and has achieved precisely nothing. He may have been playing RM but he has had a few chances and has done sweet FA

He played far too many games with too little impact. Even before the switch to right midfield, Houllier did play him up front with next to nil impact. His attitude adds to most of our dissatisfaction with him.

Not worthy to wear the famous red shirt. He should go.

My reason was behind the spitting incident at Celtic! GH bombed out players who he didnt think were up to scratch or didnt fit into his unit but didnt bomb him out after that incident! What was his thinking??
