Anyone catch the first part of the series tonight at 7 on BBC1?  Highly recommended telly (for a change).

Real men: Under Pressure featured the inner workings of a few North Sea oil divers and their everyday comings and goings on board the Seawell vessel as they attempted to portray life under the waves maintaining the flow of oil through Britains pipelines.. Fascinating stuff it was.

Part 2 is tomorrow night at 7.30 and will feature the hardships involved in working high up Pylons and keeping the National Grid running.

Mon 13 Aug, 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm  30mins - BBC1

2/4. Real Men on High

Steve is at pylon school, where he and his fellow hopefuls are hoping to join the linesmen who work at extraordinary heights, and in all weathers, to make sure that the National Grid delivers electricity to our homes 24 hours a day. If they have the head for heights, they might be able to join a team trying to rewire Britain. It's a job that sorts the men from the boys, and it's certainly not for everyone. Minicams, headcams and pylon cams record the work every high-wire step of the way.

Yeh I watched it... I'm a commercial diver so I have a bit of interest in it.  I don't do the saturation diving stuff which the lads on the tv were doing. We all pretty much use the same equipment but they remain under compression and live in the chamber... I have considered going into the saturation side but I don't think its my cuppa tea.  Imagine not seeing daylight for 28 days?
