"If the World Cup were to go to Europe, I'm quite sure, with the English luck as it is, they won't get it," Warner told BBC World Service.
"There are moves to give it to England. I must fight that."
Maybe the FA didn't offer him a big enough bribe.

Warner, a member of the world football body's executive committee since 1983, added: "It will be Italy, Spain, or even France who will get the World Cup if it goes to Europe.
"Nobody in Europe likes England. England invented the sport but has never made any impact on world football."
Aside from the obvious bigotry, there is no logic here. First, Spain haven't exactly made a big impact on world football either. They have only ever won EURO 64. France hosted the World Cup only recently and Italy hosted it in 1990. By 2018 it would have been 52 years since England last hosted the World Cup, compared to 36 for Spain, 28 for Italy and only 20 for France.
Besides, he goes on to say:
"I really don't believe that we should just lay down and play dead to anyone who wants to take the World Cup from Concacaf," he said.
CONCACAF hosted the 1970, 1986 and 1994 World Cups. They have had their fair share. Also, if his argument for England not getting the 2018 World Cup is based on their lack of impact on the world stage (aside from being World Champions of course) then how does that apply to CONCACAF since they have never produced a world champion?
First Galliard, now Warner.
Manhattan despairs at the fact that the most ignorant and intellectually bankrupt gain positions of such high influences in global organisations.
