Went to see it last Tuesday.
Forgive me for sounding like a broken record but it really is just like a longer episode of what you get every Sunday on Sky One. Nothing special going on, and I'm a MASSIVE Simpsons fan. Not to say I didn't laugh. I did. Some bits were really funny.
Think of the Stewie Griffin: Family Guy movie. Room to make more I reckon.
Seriously though? 5/10. Maybe I'm being harsh but I'm usually an optimist and I thought they could have done so much better. My advice is to buy the box sets over this movie if you want to laugh, especially from season 3 onwards when Homer was at his absolute dumbest.
Or just stop listening to me now and go and watch The Simpsons movie because the show is a pop culture icon and you KNOW you're going to watch it anyway regardless of what people tell you to do. That's why I watched it. I was hungover (not drunk) and drove up the cinema, thought I'd have me a little laugh. Had to struggle to stay awake in the end.
Anyone who wants to know how the rest of my day went after that can subscribe to my podcast at www.whogivesafuck@jonnymac1979.com. £4.99 per episode. PM me for more details. You need to be able to understand Scouse.
