The 100 mapped - Liverpool on the continent

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby red37 » Fri Aug 03, 2007 8:17 pm

Ive made up a map showing all 100 opponents that Liverpool have encountered in European competition. Bear in mind this was not done with the aid of GPS...just in case someone from deepest, darkest Slovakia or somewhere decides to chime in and point me in the right direction - half a degree west!

Its interesting i suppose to see just exactly how well travelled this club has been across the continent over the years. No doubt the destinations will grow ever more exotic and far flung, as more and more former states fragment and their footballing cream rises to the top. Anyway, here is my effort at a bit of historical 'footy' cartography..some of you might even have been to some of these places. Maybe, a good a place as any to regale a few tales.  Ive updated it to include the 11 Major European honours and locations.

Thanks for the comments lads (most of yer).

Here is a link to a list of all LFC's european games, courtesy of LFChistory.net. Click on the scores to show details, line-ups etc...

http://www.lfchistory.net/liverpool_in_europe.asp

I'll try and add the stars of the major trophies to the map. Only, bear in mind in the cases where there are already clubs highlighted in that city..it'll have to be done in a Key/Legend manner. Maybe a different coloured dot or something.
