Little things that other forums employ like banning posters from creating new threads until they have at least 100 posts and locking down the forum on matchdays to only one thread. These small restriction help moderate and organise the forum automatically.

Good idea's , although on the new threads issue I'd go for time served rather than number of posts made , any hack can bang out a hundred posts in a couple of days .One month on the forum before you can start a thread would clear/deter a lot of dross.

And the benefit of these changes are they aren't hard to employ.

i've had a word with lfc (chris).

i can't for the life of me see the point of keeping the "players" and "kop" sections as everything in there can quite easily be put in lfc general discussion. i do agree with rafa dodd howver that all game talk, i.e. build up, in game discussion, streams etc should be in the "games section". all after match discussion could then take place back in the main forum.

on the newbie issue, as woof said, time over number of posts should really be the issue.

i'm waiting for chris' reply so i'll let you know when he does.

I don’t post much anymore because I feel the quality of the forum has gone down as we have gained more users and the man at the top has failed to give the forum direction. The forum only needs 3 sections if you ask me, something along the lines of:

Liverpool FC - General Discussion
Non Liverpool Related football
General Chat Forum

The Liverpool FC - General Discussion needs to be moderated properly, threads that are too similar should be merged and members should adhere to a general etiquette of not letting threads go drastically off course and end up with people simply having a conversations of smileies or personal insults.

how many times are we gonna tell the wums - thats a rumour, put it in rumour thread.

there are different sections for different things and NO ONE uses them, which is fricking annoying. repeat threads and wrongly placed threads are gonna be the death of this site

plus, im on the 11k thingy, so im gonna start a thread on the joys of love beads

thank you all

oh, and can we get a games section put back, u know, the frogger and all that, that was good that was

I agree most of that, but my reason to post less is a) summer b) more work at morning that a lazy bástard like me likes and c) please, let the premiership and the liga start I love summer but not having regular league football gives summers the bitter taste, otherwise summers would be like the paradise.

I personally don't mind the forum being categorized in quite a lot of sections.

I personally don't mind the people talk about what they want in general chat section, even with one-liners, or a simple pic as a new thread.

But I'd moderate the LIVERPOOL F.C. discussion sections in a heavier way. I'd like this to be a forum in which everybody is welcome no matter the age, sex, religion or country. But just the same way the Anfield Crowd is the best and Liverpool FC is a top club, the Liverpool discussion section should have a better if not the best standard of quality compared to other clubs.

A Tottenham fan lurking the Liverpool section should think "fúck, they know their football here". So to achieve that better quality in the Liverpool discussion zones, I'd be less permissive with rumours, one liners threads, etc. There are other sections to make jokes or discuss off topic things, those I'd leave them softly moderated, unless a insults fiesta occurs. Warnings should not be seen as an stigma, or a shame but just what they are: warnings. They should be given, accepted, and removed if the behaviour improves, more naturally.

I have only been looking at the Forum for about 7 months, and then usually the LFC general discussion. Way too many sections, the premium members section rarely gets used. I agree someone needs to be here for a while before being allowed to open a thread, at least 2 months and 100 posts.

Also the Mods need to move topics into the correct sections when morons post them in general discussion, and join the repeated threads, and the Mods should just delete rubbish threads, eg 'Gerrard meets torres'.

Out of date pinned topics need to be removed, and we members need to make sure we stay on topic, bite the bullet and ignore the an@l t0sser that distorts and takes a line of your post out of context. Its the main general LFC discussion section that needs the most moderating IMHO. Overall i like the place and there seems to be a core of long term members that make the place.

I'd like to see things change too, it has changed over the last 18 months, nothing to do with the lads that moderating the site, they don't get paid for the time they put in but I think sections could be deleted like other say and only have 3, 4 or 5 sections, also one thing that bugs me is the amount of double posts (Heinze posts are one example).

The site is good but it could be better :;): :)

I agree with Leon to be honest.

I find myself posting more on RAOTL than here nowadays.

I'm not sure why I do though, is it because it's more scouse? is it because of the layout?

I don't have a fuckin clue but I think this forum certainly needs to step up another level.

Also why does this place attract fuckin nutters all the time? It also doesn't look appealing when there's another saga and petty squabble each month and the old reapperaing banned members. This kind of stuff doesn't happen anywhere else I go on, what is it with this place? :D

This place always seems to be out on its own, there's no real connections with the other forums. I saw something the other month (I forget what about) but it listed all these sites that were taking part in it. Some of which sites I myself hadn't heard of but this place wasn't on it and it seemed strange to me that all these forums took part and yet the one that comes up first in google did not.

This place does seem like the family member that's not invited to the party if you know what I mean.

Most of the other forums review your registration before actually approving the account and letting you post, thats why we get loads of muppets  :;):
