Man city - Weird

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Isn't it weird the way Manchester City seem to be constructing a team with past Liverpool players  :Oo: they have got Kevin Keegan as manager, Steve McManaman on the wing, Fowler and Anelka up front and Matteo has signed recently and they have David James in goals...weird.  :p

Well. They suck. Maybe they would like to sign Biscan and Diao as well?

Anelka is a good striker but he was forever off side and missed too many chances, we need a striker that will stick it in the back of the net 9/10............... LIKE CISSE :;):

Anelka is a good striker but i sometimes think people exaggerate how good he was in his time at Liverpool and saying he is better than Diouff still doesnt make him the answer to our problems, the benchmark for strikers should surely be Owen, Henry etc not Diouff

Anelka still managed to bag a handful of goals for Man City compared to the cr@p "serial killer" Diouf.

Maybe it is the way we play with not much build-up play from midfield and most of the time the final ball coming rather long from the middle for the strikers to chase and beat the defenders in a chasing duel does not really suit Anelka (although he is not much slower than Owen at thet time). he did not score because we used the Houllier system, but he has proven his goalscoring talent in a poor team. Who is to blame then? Certainly not him.

Anelka was great. He has skills and the brains to beat the defenders. GH was a fool not to get him.

I think GH has a proble with flair players because they tend to require special handling and more often then not, are not real grafters on the field. Anelka is seen as an "enfant terrible" and has a reputation as a difficult player to handle.

Remember his treatment of David Ginola? Also he did not want to look at Rivaldo at all. At thet time, he was available for free, Liverpool really needed some creativity and flair. Perhaps we should give him one year and see how it turns out...
