The fact is do we need any other strikers at the moment ? weve got 3 really good forwards at the mo n with pongolle developing could be 4! so the fact is why dont we look at areas we really need improving for example, at the back we need someone to help hyypia or even to replace both hyypia and hecnhoz and atleast one more creative midfielder! Im sure Rafiel knows what hes doing but surely hes not loking 4 more strikers? With Owen Baros Cisse n Pongolle surely we r well equipt eought ? All we need is a few class buys like rosicky ayala n dellas!

I think we should all shut up and stop reading quotes from dickhead agents and making speculation up.

Thats what i think personally.

I think that Baros, Owen and Cisse with manybe another decent striker would be good, regards to defence I think we need two quality defenders as Henchoz is too slow and Sami is being burnt out as he's having to play every game as we don't have cover for him (same problem as with Owen), in the midfield I also think that Hamman is short of pace and you can see the way midfields with pace go past him so I would buy another partner for Gerrard, we also need a decent creative midfielder like Aimar or maybe Van Der Vaart.

What would anyone want to sign Mido for?  I've seen him play doe Egypt and he's cr*p, all he does is pose and fall over - similar to Heskey but with added posing ability.

Maybe I'm thinking of someone else but if he's teh Valencia guy he scored 25 goals inc. 6 in the uefa cup last season.

relax people, rafa knows what he's doing, yeah i must admit im a little concerned with the lack of transfer activity and wonder if its cos we have no money or if rafa is still assessing the team but we have four weeks left of preseason and the friendlies are starting next week so he will know who he does and doesnt want then!
very impressed with rafa already i must admit because gone are babbel heskey and cheyrou which in my opinion was dead wood at the club and theres talk of diao and diouf going (diouf hasnt got a squad number for the season yet) so he can spot shyte a mile away unlike houllier! plus theyre off our wage bills!

i know were being linked with strikers buts thats media talk cos its more exciting talking bout strikers than defenders! he will see our lack of pace at the back and correct it! plus from one of the earlier posts from gerrard steven mentioning class buys like dellas, he had a good euro2004 but he is another diao or diouf who would never be able to cut it at lfc so drop that interest mate, if houllier was in charge we would have half the greek squad on our books just like senegal from the world cup!

all the players are speaking highly of the preseason and saying its new and tough and are using muscles they never usd before, for half of them its probably the muscles used to get their fingers out of their ****** so they can start performing at the standard needed for liverpool football club!

he will play players based on form, which is great, so if the likes of owen are not doing it rafa will have no problem dropping him for baros n cisse, unlike under houllier when heskey played every week with poor baros dying to get on ahead of him whilst sitting on the bench!

good times ahead im sure of it

that's Mista, he played up front by himself a lot of the time so I suppose he was expected to score a lot of goals, Beni would know him well and he could be useful.

Mido - not bad at Ajax, but at Marseille he hasn't done much, pretty average really - no thanks.

Great teams usually don't have any great delineation between attacking and midfield and also between defending  and midfield.

Even dummies like me know LFC needs a cohesive mid 4 that provide the elastic between attacking and defending. They are the cement dam when the opposition attacks and are a relentless conduit like lighting in providing ball to the front.
Teams are better than stars (thank God for the demo from Greece in 2004)

So if we/or anybody cannot get the perfect combo of talent, I'd rather have a GM/coach who has a system that works. Benitez seems to have the rep to supply this. If he doesn't sign anybody in 2004, that's up to him. Personally I am impressed so far with his overt lack of panic/trade

I am confident that RB will give every player a chance to make the 11 up and 11 back philosophy work. LFC don’t need stars, we need a  Team!!

Well said Yates, I have always said that great teams play as a unit, yeah OK Arsenal have good plays but they aren't all stars, they play as a unit and work for each other and thats why are successful.  We deffo need to bring back the pass and move attitude. :;):

this is evident this seoson with Greece winning Euro 2004 and Porto winning the CL, both very good teams who work as a unit and play for each other, with a little bit of individual flair.
