Don't think i can post in any other post right now Phil lad. Football's an A.s.s mate. Not sure sure if it was was written in the gods tonight mate? maybe it was, i guess they deserved it after Istanbul. They were poor an we deserved more but that's the way it goes sometimes. So much of the time, especially on nights like these, football seems like the only thing that matters but it doesn't mean squat coz we all wish you were still here with us to celebrate or commisorate. the Redmen will fight again my son and you will always be such a great leveller for me, keep my feet on the ground an my head out the clouds.

weird i came here even tho i didnt know the guy at all.....but look at the impact he has made...

Hope he drives us on to the premiership, im sure he's up in heaven negotiating with shankley on how to do this...

I never knew Phil, i only started looking at the forum around the time of his death. I thought i better read around a bit before i posted on here, so i read the thread about Phil and his illness, all 50 odd pages, skimmed through bits, but i read what Phil wrote, it was very emotional to read through from the start, his ups when he was allowed home, and beat the first 6 months and his day out to the downs the illnesses, shoddy NHS and memory loss.

what i saw was a good bloke with a dry sardonic sense of humour (Welsh wizards wonderful world of W*nk!, right up my alley) without any self pity, his missus who bothered to inform the faceless names on here, and a group, who although very few new him personally, rallied and took time to visit him.

Hope Mrsdrummerphil and the kids are well, and RIP Phil, YNWA

Hi People,

Don't know if picture showing? but it is our little treasure 'Tessa', some of you may remember Phil posting her in a thread about pets. Originally she lived next door, but when her elderly owners passed away within weeks of each other I promised Thelma I would look after Tessa for her and she was with us for 5 years. Such a lovely natured dog and my son's best mate, she would try to follow him everywhere,even up a tree! She adored Phil and no one but Phil could tickle her chin quite like he did. I remember Phil crying when we took Tessa to visit him in the garden at the hospital, he thought she didn't recognise him. Once Phil was back at home, Tessa found that she could get on his bed by jumping on the chair and then stretching across to the bed, she would lie with him all day if he let her, plus Phil had a few goodies next to his bed, they were both chocalohics!
Over these past months Tessa as been my constant companion, my reason to step outside, giving comforting hugs and unconditional love. For some years now she as been on medication for heart problems but as lived I hope a happy and full life with us, she went everywhere with us, on boats, trains and she was even my bridesmaid at our wedding, she wore a lovely pink collar with little diamond flowers on, all through the service she sat under the Reverends chair snoring very loudly.
Last night she joined Phil once more - I know you will take care of her Phil - may you both be watching over us as we miss you more each passing day.

Hi Karen, nice to hear from you but saddened you´ve lost Tessa, jeez you´re having a bit of a rough one at the moment! I´ve lost a couple of dogs over the years, cried like a baby on both occaisions but both times the dogs were in pain with ailments and we knew it was the best thing at the end of the day. Its always difficult to go out there and get another pup, but we did just that and our Rhodesian Ridgeback turned 2 last weekend. He´s a big lad and a handful but the kids love him to death and he in turn repays it x10, as well as looking after them like a hawk. Take a deep breath and go for it as the fun and love of having another pup in the house outweighs the trouble! I think...... :;):

Hope everything else is going well for you, you remain as always in our thoughts and prayers, as does you-know-who.

Hi Karen,

Sorry to hear about Tessa, i know how a dog can become a part of the family (sometimes the preferred part).

I am sure she's there keeping Phil company. It continues to astonish me the amount of heartbreak you have gone through, and much like Phil, remained positive.
