Hope its just a rumour

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby ckay » Fri Jul 16, 2004 11:41 am

I love this time of the season. I get all excited at the prospect of next seasons line up, reading transfer rumours trying to work if it's cr@p or true.

Just Love It!!!!!!

If Baros wants to go for £8 million then let him go. I'd be gutted to lose him but if he wants to leave then his heart isn't at the club.

Cor thats much better than bbc.co.uk cheers cisse.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

NOW THE TRANSLATED VERSION
The it preferred by the club is Cissé.  Of the French (potentially media) already there were positive reports it passed season and the club contacted with the Auxerre, but finally the Liverpool advanced and hired it to yield it a year to its club of origin.  This acquisition was a petition of Gerard Houllier, that no longer is in the stool.  The technical office of the secretary azulgrana has spoken with the Liverpool of the theme and on Baros suspects on the other hand that is flower of a day, that left in Portugal, where yielded above its level.  Luis Angel Populates, the agent FIFA that possesses its rights in Spain, was day before yesterday in Barcelona to offer it

no oops just read it properly thats the fifa guy angel :p

translated from spanish article (by translating ware)

The FC Barcelona is very pending of the decision of technician Rafa Benítez with respect to the forward whom it is going to do without facing the next season. The Liverpool, at the moment, it has Michael Owen that he is untouchable, of the French Djibril Cissé and the Czech Milan Baros, and Benítez will only remain with two, reason why in the next hours the equipment of Anfield will have to look for destiny Cissé or Baros.  The favorite by the club is Cissé. Of the French (potentially mediatic) already there was positive information the last season and the club contacted with the Auxerre, but finally the Liverpool went ahead and it contracted it to yield it a year to its club of origin. This draftee was a request of Gerard Houllier that no longer it is in the bench. The azulgrana technical secretariat has spoken with the Liverpool of the subject and on Baros it suspects however that it is flower of a day that one left in Portugal, where it rendered over its level. Luis Puebla Angel, the agent FIFA who has his rights in Spain, it was the day before yesterday in Barcelona to offer it.

With Drogba going to Chelski for £26 million, Baros should go for at least £30 million. He's an experienced international with a great scoring record. But I cant see the price going above £10 million if he was to leave.

ckay you pretty much sum it up really, bang on. Although more realistically is £15 Million, Ive said all along if Baros wants to stay he has a fresh slate and like all the other players needs to get his head down, work hard and show the new Boss why he should be in team. He will certainly have to start lifting his head up when he runs and lets be honest his game in the national team is nothing like what it will be at Liverpool two different systems entirley. He has scored a shed load of goals at international level but Greece won the Euros is that a marker for graet players nowadays.

Yeah and Porto won the Champs LEague, is that a mark of a competion won with great players... no it's not.... the sad thing is that football is coming down to who can organise their team the best and the so called great players are to busy looking at their bank account o moivate themselves for these competitions..... that and the fact that some clubs have planks for managers who wouldn't know how to organisne or motivate a team to save their lives
Rant over.

I read that Chelsea offered 18 million for Drogba and were turned down.
Obviously clubs throughout europe are aware of Chelseas' buying power and take the p*ss whenever Chelsea make an approach. There is no way that Drogba is worth more than £12-15 million. Unfortunately Abramovichs' money is contaminating the transfer mkt, resulting in over hyped and over priced players .Personally I would like to see some sort of "capping system" put on transfers although I'm not sure how to frame it, (maybe age ,1st team and international apperances etc.). Baros is a good player and if he leaves I hope we can get as much as possible for him. But lets not forget that he hasn't nailed down a position as one of the first choice strikers for LFC and until Euro 2004 not many of us were to bothered about whether we kept him or not.
I hope we keep him as we obviously need more than just Owen and Cisse in our strike force but lets not suddenly make him out to be a Rush,Fowler or Owen.  :suspect:

Am I alone in saying that I don't think the sale of Baros is a bad thing? He hasn't looked clinical for us, is unaware of the options around him and maybe he feels the time is right to leave. With the likes of Kezman going for 5 millio I am sure Rafa can buy us a good un for 10 million

If Saviola is not in part of the exchange, no sale of Baros must proceed.

21 goals in 31 games for Czech Republic. Thats a great record.  We have to give Baros a chance.
