The english defenders whose names you've mentioned have never been purchased (or even just courted) by major continental european sides. Boumsong has.

In case you forgot, Woodgate was bought by Real Madrid.

Not many English players go abroad because foreign leagues really aren't attractive to players. Spain is the closest in style and in recent seasons players have gone or been linked there. The French, Dutch and German leagues aren't close to the standard of the Premiership. As for the Italian league, it lacks thepace and excitement of the Premiership, not to mention the widespread corruption.

Another major reason English players don't move abroad is the inflated prices. Until English clubs get realistic, the decent players will only ever end up at LFC, Chelsea or Man Utd.

Oops sorry about that. Woodgate is then the exception which confirms the general rule.

Well, since his agent said this weekend that the deal would be wrapped up in a few days it's obvious that Marseille is trying to take us to the cleaners on this one.

I'd rather let him rot in the reserves than to roll over at Marseille's wishes.

Considering that Lando Griffin is registered as a LFC elite member, I wonder what unexplored abyss of vulgarity, what unimaginable depths in the field of despicable behaviour could be reached by just an "ordinary" member . Going further down certainly requires an excavator or two.

As for the last part of Lando Griffin's post, referring to my sexual habits and the size of my machinery, he'd better gather reliable information from people who really know what it's all about : his mother, his sister, his wife and his daughter.
