Bye bye cisse - Bbc

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Bad Bob » Wed Jul 04, 2007 2:05 pm

Cisse can obviously score you a fair few goals but the team needs to be set up a certain way to get the most out of him.  If we'd continued with the Houllier tactics--defending deep and counter-attacking with long balls over the top--Cisse would have made a decent fist of the Owen role (despite not being fit to lace Owen's boots in terms of skill and finishing prowess).  Given that Rafa is moving us in another direction tactically, Cisse was virtually surplus to requirements from the off, since he doesn't have the broader skill set or footballing intelligence to excel in our current set up.

I, for one, will look forward to selling him no matter what the price, as it will mean the end of these tiresome and repetitive Cisse discussions.  :D

Agreed. Let's just make sure that LFC will sell us Cisse at our price.  :nod

When you play for a team like Liverpool you don't get time and space to run with the ball, in France you get that time and space in much more abundance.  The defending here is more atute and if you have a poor touch and a lot of pace it becomes easy to disposess the striker.

That is one of the funniest things I have had the opportunity to read lately. Defending in the premiership being more astute than in the french league? You must be joking, lad. Some defenders in the Premiership are so terrible that such a prominent player as my Grandma even wearing flip-flops could score loads of goals in your league.

    PMSL

It's not just more astute, it's a level ahead.

Just for the fun of it : could you name a few english defenders of international reputation ? I mean footballistic reputation, nothing to do with the fame they might have acquired in such dirty affairs as rapes, excessive boozing etc.  :D

How about, Ferdinand, Campbell, Terry, Carragher, Cole, Neville, Woodgate, King, Dawson.

Or are they not as good as Boumsong!

The english defenders whose names you've mentioned have never been purchased (or even just courted) by major continental european sides. Boumsong has.
Let's face it, dear LFC : very few english players leave the Premiership. Why?
Very few english players encounter real success abroad. Why?

Because they're not mercenaries, unlike the Frog tw*ts that go through about 15 clubs in their careers.

THAT's why, dickhead.

Just as a thought - if the frog league is better than the Prem - where have the French sides finished in the Champions' League? How many finals? How many victories?

Furthermore, how many French players have won the f*cking thing?

Just bear in mind that your lot pinched the best players from the likes of Algeria, Mali, etc, to push your National side through 2 International Championships.
None Frenchmen who are playing/have played for France:

Zidane,
Viera,
Marcel Desailly,
Makalele and,
Malouda.

Would you have won any tournaments without these players, particularly the first 4?

Would you f*ck.

You silly b*stard.

You didn't say players that had been purchased, you said "players of international reputation" and accused them of "rapes" - sure - not anti-English at all mate  :no

English players tend to stay within the Premiership because there are few English players of such quality and the big premiership clubs know how valuable this is, the mancs, us and Chelsea have a British backbone and it is important to maintain that - that is why all the big English players usually stay in England.

The Premiership p!sses on Ligue 1, our second division has higher overall attendances than Ligue 1 FFS. The championship is the fifth richest league in Europe aswell.

Our English defenders have just as much quality as your French defenders at this moment, if not more ability than them.

No doubt, you're a champ.
Of what?
Have a guess.

Furthermore, your knowledge of vocabulary and your sense of hospitality speaks for you. Unfortunately.
It's been nice not knowing you any further.

Why should I bother demonstrating the virtues of the English language to a French peasant?

Tell me that, Monsieur...

also why would they move from the EPL when it's the best league in the world? ????

that's why the best french players come here to play and then retire playing in other leagues (Zidne not included)

Has it ever occurred to you that English language offered other possibilities than slang words or clichés?

Just a question : what time did you finish studying your primary school syllabus this morning?
Or perhaps your teacher's name was Joey Barton?  :D

Hello lads,

The two links above are likely to show you that what I said before was not the insane product of my unbridled imagination.
Enjoy your reading.
LFC, Lando Griffin, are you watching?
oh by the way Lando Griffin having achieved his primary school levels earlier this morning should be able to decipher the two texts above, albeit with some difficulties perhaps.  :;):

And that proves a lot doesn't it, it proves NOTHING. It proves that footballers are easy targets to exploit, what was the outcome of the Leicester City case?

Acquittals all round.

You assume bad behaviour is something typical to English players, what about the drug takers in Italy? Your hero Zizou headbutting an Italian in the World cup final?

Sure, carry on thinking English football has problems with its players, but keep it on the downlow that in France you have riots at games and racist chanting.
