....Because we were as thick to pay £14m for him we expect at least a decent price in return, he can cut it in France but in England you need more than blistering pace and a powerful shot. He is not good enough for us, it's nothing to do with us being unable to utilise his ability, he just isn't good enough. When you play for a team like Liverpool you don't get time and space to run with the ball, in France you get that time and space in much more abundance. The defending here is more atute and if you have a poor touch and a lot of pace it becomes easy to disposess the striker. As much as his pace is useful at times, his negatives outweighed his positives.
There are plenty strikers in france with pace and a good shot and believe it or not they aint all scoring 20+ goals a season. Just ask Milan Baros who has struggled to score goals for the best side in France - Lyon. A lot people who no nothing of lique 1 thought he would score for fun in France. Has not happened!!
We are well in our right to ask for a fee and if a club doesnt match that fee then we dont have to sell. However the flip side is we cant tout cisse to other sides who may pay more as Cisse will not go to any other side. We had to take less for Baros as he originally didnt want to go Lyon. If anything the wages cisse gets at Liverpool would probably eclipse the difference in what OM are offering compared to Bolton, Espanyol, West Ham etc.
