Could someone tell me the point in loaning players out for a season when they r no longer wanted at a club.

Crespo-chelsea
cheyrou-Liverpool
Diouf-maybe
Diou-maybe
babbel
danny mills

why not just sell them
i no we save on wages but it dosent worth the while
young players for experience i can understand
anyone no why this is

to say it's pointless is a bit harsh. here are some others who went out on loan and look where they are now. it's all about letting them gain first team experience if they are not going to be regulars at their contracted clubs.

Ashley Cole - 14 League games/1 goal for Crystal Palace from Feb 2000 (Managed by Steve Coppell)

Rio Ferdinand 10/0 for Bournemouth from Nov 1996 (Managed by Mel Machin)

Danny Murphy 16/1 for Crewe from Feb 1999 (Managed by Dario Gradi

David Beckham 5/2 for Preston from Feb 1995 (Managed by Gary Peters

Frank Lampard 9/1 for Swansea from Oct 1995 (no manager)

Under-21s

J Lloyd Samuel - 8/0 for Gillingham from Oct 2001

Jermaine Pennant - 9/2 (including this season) for Watford from Jan 2002

Michael Carrick - 6/2 for Swindon from Nov 1999 and 2/0 for Birmingham from Feb 2000

Jermain Defoe - 29/18 (including 10 consecutive goalscoring games) for Bournemouth from Oct 2000

the fact is that cheyrou wants out but nobody wants to buy him. it would cost too much to release him so the only other option is send him out on loan to a club, and giving them the option of buying him after that spell if he impresses.

as for crespo, that situation is a joke. chelseas are complete mugs. he's not in their plans but apparently they're still paying 60k of his wages a week. madness.

With Crespo for instance. If Chelsea tried to sell him they'd get F*ck all for him due to his cr@p displays last season. If he goes on loan and puts in a great performance the club could then sell him for a bit more cash. Look at Njitap Geremi. He had a good season at boro while on loan from Madrid and then secured a big money move to Chelsea. Mendieta is the same. He was ****** before his move to Boro.

as far as crespo goes.
his performances havent been up 2 much
but he's been injured alot and as with alot of players brought to this country it can take a while for them to settle.also with their rotation system it limits the games a striker plays
pablo angel is the best example.
if we had him i would of given him a little more time.
just look at heskey and how much time and chances we gave him before getting rid. (talking about his last few seasons STU, before u lose the plot)

Diouf is better suited to the French game and so is Diou, Cheyrou will get first team football and expeience instead of rotting on the bench at Anfiled, Babbel had a good loan spell at Blackburn and has now secured a move to Stuggart, Danny Mills is on loan so Leeds can reduce there wage bill and hopefully bring him back if ( and it's a big if ) they get promoted next season. Any more mate.

babbel went on a free, i still think he had talent and was worth somthing to someone
mills fell out with everyone at leeds
i just think (not young players)
a sale is better than a loan
what about our investers anyway whats happend to them
