Bye bye cisse - Bbc

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I'm extremly irritated by Marseille with them repeating the same thing over and over again.
"Cissé does not want to be anywhere else than marseille"

Translated that means
"We will try to force another loan or only pay 4 million cause you have no choice but to give him to us"

I'd tell Marseille and Cissé that either Marseille cough up £6m+ or Cissé will sit in the stands most of the season.
No way I'd cave in to their tactics.

can see him scoring many many goals wherever he goes.... afterall he did score many goals for us and did just that pretty much wherever he played... decent player and got waay too much stick from the fans because relative to our other signings he was an expensive one..

good luck cisse and for me... cisse for anything less than 8-10mill is a bargain..too bad we are in no position to negotiate !

great quote. 100% true of how I feel as well.

:bowdown

OTT. Bigtime.

Cisse for me is and still will remain a good finisher. Had he be willing to give more to the team, chase lost causes, help out in defending etc, would not only mean that he would be playing for us now, but would also be our best striker.

It pi$$es me off a little bit the stick Cisse has taken tbh. Even when played right wing, he scored goals and when he was with the club he openly stated his desire of playing for us. People go on about us paying £14M for him - he scored as many as Drogba did in the French league, yet Drogba went for £24M - had the signings been the other way around, Cisse would surely be classed as a bargain. I beleve that £14M ws a fair assessment of a player who topped the scoring charts in a European league at the time and this kind of price would represent amazing value for a similar kind of profile.

If Marseille get him for £6M, it will be an absolute steal and i'm sure, given the right application, Cisse would still be an integral part of our team. The face and on the pitch desire unfortunately didn't fit.

Good luck Cisse if it is that you do leave us. I wish him well.

The second biggest p!ss of money after Diouf by Houllier IMO.

He's a good player, but his touch is sh!te, his finishing is heavy handed - he has no subtlety to his finishing. He is one dimensional in his ability, he can't head, he offers little to build up play, he did not chase down lost causes too often and he had an attitude. Pace is good, but even Bellamy usurps him comfortably when it comes to pace and touch.

Maybe in a league where you get the time to look in the mirror and comb your hair before receiving the ball he may cut the mustard e.g. Ligue 1, but in the pressure cooker of the EPL and more specifically - a club of our stature who often face 11 men behind the ball in league games - he's not up to it.

Sorry, but I don't buy that. This goal is an amazing finish and as subtle as you like.

Subtle? He's almost cute.

If I could be ars,ed to go on youtube and find images of Cisse where he is clearly not a subtle finisher I would, but I can't be fecked. That second finish is clearly not subtle, it demonstrates what he does most often - power his shots.

He is not a deft finisher, he tends to smash it or power it. He is not a smart finisher.

No, it's because it's unfashionable to think he might actually be any good in that area, thus making it easier to get rid of him. Put Henry in that video instead of Cisse - christ, everyone, rags n all, would be waxing lyrical about his deftness and his ability to put the ball where he wants. He'd be called the sultan of spin.............probably.

Thnk of Cisse's goal against Everton - quality finish that not many would have been able to convert were he showed strength, poise and composure. Just think that people are harsher on him than needed and without looking at all the facts.

mate, stop trying to argue a point that is not true. So what, he may or may not be a subtle finisher in your view. The thing is, given the chance he will score the goals. Simple as.  :wwww  :rasp

People wax lyrical about Henry because he is one of the best players ever to have played in England - he is on a different planet to Cisse - planet subtle.

Cisse can be subtle in his finishing once in a blue moon, during his time with us he smashed it too often and missed the opportunities to create a better opening for other players.

£14m - he in no way justified that type of money.

Well, agree with almost everything even if the wording was a bit harsh. Also saying he can't head is a bit harsh. He isn't a great header, but a decent one. Just that the PL has without question the best aerial defenses of any league.
You need the mentality of a Shearer or a Ferguson to be a great header in this league.

Not much to say about the rest, more than it's true.

Still just one of many bad signings from GH when he lost his head in the final years.

Not true? He is clearly not a cute finisher, he lacks that awareness that top class players have. He is too one dimensional, all pace and power and not enough subtle finishing and awareness.

I'll only agree because he is not the Shearer, Ashton type of player. Henry is not a great header of the ball, but a decent one. But Cisse is worse, he couldn't nut a numpty.
