If anybody should be rioting over Rushdie getting a knighthood it should be us English .The honour system is an absolute joke ,long gone are the days when honours we awarded sparingly and only to the well deserved . It would seem that nowadays any t'wat with a bit of pull can get themselves a knighthood.

I could go on but the list of totally undeserved recipients is seemingly endless but here's a few that surprised even me

Benito Mussolini italian fascist awarded GCB (grand commander order of bath) in 1923
J Edgar Hoover transvestite head of the FBI awarded KBE (Knight of the British Empire) in 1950
Robert Mugabe unhinged political gangster and self proclaimed president for life of Zimbabwe awarded KCB (knight commander order of bath) in 1994 .

No wonder so many now turn down the offer of a supposed honour , who in there right mind would join a club with that lot in it.

If I was a muslim I think I'd be laughing not rioting .

. I'm not really that bothered by St Micks plagiarism , in fact his bare faced cheek and complete lack of shame when caught out is almost something to be admired .

He's clearly still at it, their is always contradictions in his football posts if you look hard enough as he probably doesn't read all of what he copies and pastes.

I just don't get the logic? Who is he trying to impress? People on the net.

I think it's nice to spread good posts you like in other forums, we come to learn from others after all, but it's as simple as putting a line of introduction: "Woof Woof, a red from another forum wrote something interesting..."

St Michael does know making decent posts of his own, and I feel it's sad he does that, because he hasn't to do it in order to write decent things.

Just wanna say i agree with ciggy here.

The Taliban had to be ousted....and the Afghan locals were grateful it was done.

Banning girls from school and forcing the women to wear burkas is outrageous....some women only continue to wear the burka because they've heard the Taliban may come back and they would be beaten if it was reported they'd discarded it.

Anyways, the Taliban are regrouping as people know...so the foreign troups must stay.

On the other hand, I think the Iraq war was totally unjustified...and although Sadamn was a tyrant...things seemed better when he was in control...
