The Manhattan Project wrote:As a muslim i find the decision to 'honour' Salman Rushdie with a knighthood is wrong and an insult to Muslims across the world. Western governments seem to have no problem when it comes to insulting Muslims and Islams. The British Government knew exactly what reaction they were gonna get.
Secular liberal societies may believe that it is perfectly acceptable to insult and defame religious communities whether they are Muslims, Christians or Jews but Muslims and Islam does not allow this.
Yes and that's the problem.
The overreaction from some Muslims.
This is not the Middle Ages.
If someone says something about a Muslim's religion, then how about they try the intellectual route and respond to the thing that is said with reason and rationality? Point by point. Break down the argument and respond.
Maybe that would be more effective than the old "Behead Him and Burn His Body!!!!" routine?
I agree with you on that point. The Muslim community needs to respond with debate!
Burning of flags etc does not really achieve anything.
