Ever since the ''Anfield rap'' came out with aldy and co , remember that?

What a tune ,still sends a shiver of dread down my spine

Real men with tight shorts and moustaches ,them were the days bless

I know i have already said how long ive been a red but the greatest football memories for me were in 1977.what a final month to the season. After having got to the european final against F.C Zurich it was back to the matter of finishing champs and a F.A Cup Final.By the way they do a lovely glass of lager in Zurich. We only needed a draw agaist man city to win the league but what an atmosphere at anfield that day the songs, the flags and just everyone havin a good time ALLEZ LE ROUGE got sang to the hilt, if anyone doesnt remember that was the song we nicked off ST Ettiene when we played them at there ground, it sounded better when we sung it .

Wed got our tickets for wembly against the mancs for the second leg of our treble and it was down to london to a great pub called the :censored: and shovel, anyone remember it?.We took over the pub and drank them drythat day. the funniest moment that day was ouside the stadium some fella from the willowbank pub never had a ticket, the band were going in and showing passes, so what does he do he empties his ciggy box which were number10s flattens it out and walks in behind them showing his box as his pass, we just cracked up laughin he got in though        :bowdown .Even though the treble was off with the result  we still sang our way back to Liverpool cause on wednsday we were going to Rome.

Lime St was full everyone was getting the trains to Rome, the football specials we used to call them dead cheap i think it only cost us about 60 pound, when we got there we was all knackerd it took us nearly 2 days.but what a laugh we had on the way.
we took over St Peters Square it was spot the German. When we got to the stadium it was magic, you just new we was gonna win Its the first time i ever cried at a football match we had won the European Cup.It didnt matter that we had lost at wembly to the mancs we had something which was ours it belonged to us.
Sorry to say but like a lot of other people that night i cant remember much of what happend after that we were celebrating for 2 days and nights right the way back to Liverpool, massive hangover but the best football month of my life.    :D

Who cares how someone developed a passion for the reds, its more important that they continued the support throughout the sh!te years of Souness and Evans. I hate the Bollox of 'i am a better fan than you, because i started to support them when we won notin' or me mam gave birth to me on the pitch at Anfield and wrapped me in Thommos shirt'

It should be in ya blood. Not manufactured. It should be about local pride and passion and supporting your own team and your own club.

Sadly these days though its like a :censored: fasion accessory, the glory hunters are ruining the game and they can't even see it.

Fair enough, Stu.  I'm off to support Toronto FC of the mighty MLS.  At least they'll let me wear a jester's hat at the match!

Well, I support my local club, and now we're in segunda I'll shout even louder. Proud of a *club* that plays with 7 homegrown lads in the starting eleven, not bought but taught, but that has nothing to do with the fact I love football, I love the premiership and I started to be happy when LFC won, and sad when Liverpool lost.

There are things you don't choose Stu.

You should measure the distance from your house to Anfield and goodison and make sure you know which is your local team.
The guy you posted after had been supporting since '84 hardly 'these days'. In 'Ya blood'....what? If you come from a family who don't watch football you can't support a team? If you move away you can't support them as its not local anymore? load of :censored:

Totally agree, as long as you have a passion for the club and support them in the bad times as well as the good then that is good enough for me. BTW I started supporting Liverpool during the Souness era so there's been a lot of pain but the good times are coming back now I can feel it.

I agree with redtrader and I shake my head at stu's reasoning for being a red or not.For the record my 1st game was in the late 60's,by the mid 70's I was attending every home game,1980 got my 1st season ticket which I've had ever since.I value all the support our club gets from near or far..
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW AND TOMORROW IS JUST A DREAM AWAY.
