Because you're completely clueless about the game.

Steven Gerrard has been absoloutely :censored: immense YET AGAIN for Liverpool this season.

I'm sick of people expecting miricales every time he plays. He NEVER EVER EVER EVER gets the credit he deserves anymore. Against the Mancs at home, Chelsea in the league and the CL he was by a mile in each game the best player on the pitch, yet he got no credit in any of these games. Its a :censored: joke.

Get it sorted you clueless bellend.

Not expecting miracles but read through the forums this season and pick out the ones where Gerrard cant seem to be bothered. He hasnt warranted a new contract.

I don't think that Gerrard had a great season either, he was distinctly average,(no i'm not expecting 40yd piledrivers each game) but so was the team in general. It is easy to understand why, he and Alonso pretty much played non stop 3 years of football, what with all the CL qaulifiers after 2005 and the WC. New contracts are  there to tie the players down, if you get into the situation where they can buy out their contract for F*ckall, or into their last 18 months when they could go for nothing much, ala Owen, then the club is screwed.

I don't think they should have got as much of an increase as they did in salaries, but that is the nature of football atm. Also one below par season shouldn't negate all the good work they have done and will clearly continue to do.

Llando himself went on a rant about how Gerrard got player of the season on the lfc.tv website when he didnt deserve it. Stu can throw in his insults in a desperate attempt to make himself look clever but the simple fact is, Steve Gerrard can walk on water, part the seas and tell his dad who can and cannot get into heaven, according to people like stu, but I am different, I see people for who they are and Steven Gerrard is a great footballer who was made by Liverpool FC and his mum and dad! and I stand by what I say, what makes LFC great is the team not individuals.

Do you not think part of the reason Gerrard gets much less appreciation now is because of his off the field mistakes ie His book , serialising it in the NOTW , almost leaving, his England, England JT is great etc etc.

I don't think Gerrard had a great season but he certainly didn't have a bad one. He also had to cope with being pushed from pillar to post rather than having a settled position.

I wouldnt sell him for £40million so I suppose he has to be paid accordingly.

Stevie G, is our Captain, our Talisman, our best player by far.

When it's time to renew his contract, then we should do everything in our power to make sure that we sign him up, because regardless of if he's been our best player or not last season,  he's still immense, and will be for the next 5 years

I'm sorry Kharhaz, but great individuals make great teams.

Correct me if im wrong but the only player who has signed a new contract worthy of mention is Jamie Carragher. Xabi Alonso and Stevey Gerrard have had poor seasons and are rewarded with an improved contract. Heres my opinion on what phase one should have been, to sign players who want to be here and succeed on the biggest stage of them all.

It seems like it doesnt matter about performance anymore, as long as you show you can kick a ball, you'll be rewarded. Xabi and Stevey have to start earning what they have been rewarded with. Great players yes, no one can deny that, but this past season they have been poor, and no one can deny that. They have been rewarded with new contracts, we want our big players to lead by example, Carra the exception, he always has !

If they hadn't been offered new, improved contracts, they would have bought out their current deals and left for free.

Not a person on this board wants to see that.

On talkSPORT's "Alan Brazil Breakfast Show", Graham Beecroft just said that:

- He's heard that Hicks and Gillett don't have the money they promised Rafa.

- Hicks and Gillett have fallen out over which of their sons will run the club.

Keep in mind, this is the same guy who claimed 100% that Michael Owen was deffo signing for LFC....just before he signed for the Toon.

What absoloute utter rubbish you are chatting.

The completely bellendness of your post is just typical of some foreign know nothin upstart who thinks he knows what he's talking about when actually has no idea at all.

Go and watch a :censored: game lad an watch the lad live. He's :censored: outstanding every single time he played.

I remember the Villa away game (you mentioned) and himself and Gareth Barry stood out by a mile for quality. No other player on the pitch looked capable of playing Sunday league yet those two stood out simpley for their over all quality. The only things in the match that were done with any quality came from those two players, the rest of the players on the pitch where a joke.

The problem stems from the dickheads who think he can do it on his own. Steven Gerrard's a team player, against Chelsea in the semi final for the first 70 minutes he was by a mile the best player on the pitch, he tackled, passed, ran, dribbled, headed the ball, he done :censored: everything and he even set the :censored: goal up for the arsewholes who can't see the rest of the game.

Its idiots who can't see the rest of his game that wind me up. This season he's played far better alround than he did last. He's quite simply failed to score the same amount of goals.

I mean, we should really expect 23 goals a season from a central midfielder... 11 is completely unacceptable... 11 goals a season from midfield... bah... disgrace! :no
