no need be like that lfc07. the guy is only stating his opinion and he is more that entitled to it, as are you. thats the concept behind a forum.

i do think he has a point though. nobody can argue the fact that we need a few more players to take us to man u's and chelskis level. come on that is fact as they have been ahead of us in the premiership for years. (as were arsenal).

i still think that siging benayoun is not the required standard of player we require. again my opinion. i dont think siging Bent would make too much difference either, though i am a believer of Rafa turning a player of Bents ability in to potencially a very good striker. I dont think even Rafa could make anything more out of Benyoun and if we did sign him we would be going nowhere. i think Bent odes have more potencial but not at 18 million pounds!

Who are you, what have you contributed to this forum?

You assume we don't want success in the league, you assume we should be shouting from the rooftops for Rafa to sign "Big" players. Don't you show any faith in our future under Rafa?

We have not signed Benayoun, nor have we signed Bent.

so your saying my views and opinions dont matter because i have not long been a memeber of this forum? i never assumed anything of the sort. I was simply saying that in my OPINION, IF we were to sign the likes of Benayoun and Bent (who we have been linked to a lot recently) it will not make us the club we should be - premiership champions. Only signing the likes of Etoo - Tevez (maybe) etc, could make the difference between us again coming 3rd, 4th in the league or winning the league. thats simple.

I'm saying you've contributed nothing useful to this forum so far - everything except for speculating about Bent and Benayoun and the potential consequences IF we do sign them. You support that muppet "bread" who believes we don't know the "truth" - get real. Stating his "opinion" that we don't know the truth and are somehow blinded by our cup success? And he has a point you say?

He has no point other than to wind people up.

ok - thats your opinion - well done. So let me throw this spanner into the works. We you happy with us playing a reserve team in the premiership for most of the games since x-mas last season? Does that not prove that the league is out of our grasp at the moment and we are too far behind utd, chelsea and even arsenal?? Rafa was only ever concentrating on cups. Also i dont think Voronin and those other signings so far, will be nothing more than more squad players. I have seen Voronin a few times in the german league and he was poor...very poor in fact.

Reserve team?

I can't recall us ever playing a reserve team in the league.

Who have we signed?  Nobody!!!

We're going backwards - Regardless wether you believe Bent and Benayoun are good for us, at least the'd be something, and they're both pretty decent players.

Bent would be a good signing I think.  He'd score goals for any team.

Hey mr bread , cool name , one of the best bands ever lash , it's such a shame you talk utter poo .

If you would take the time to read some threads on here ,you would see that there have been plenty of discussions on how and when were gonna win the league.

Now go read some theads and come back with a bit more if an argument and people might not think your a wum . Don't just jump in slagging everyone and everything off.

Why don't you take abit of time read some theads and you'll find that alot of members of the forum are far from apathetic.  :)

so resting Gerrard, Alonso, Crouch, Kuyt, Risse, Finnan, Carra, alike for league games and playing the likes of Fowler, Aurellio, Ardebola, Bellamy, Zenden etc is not playing say reserves or fringe players?

Well your spanner hasn't hit its target, you have just blown your own argument out the water. If as you say we played a reserve team from Xmas to the end of the season then it shows we have a good side, as our 'reserve' side managed 3rd place.

It is quite simple we started the season poorly, too many new players, a little too much messing about with the team, and an unkind fixture list. Once it was clear we were out of the contention for the league, we accomodated the CL and ensured 4th place.Quite simple and logical.
We cruised in the last 3rd of the season and finished above Arsenal, and last year, so i cannot understand why you believe they are ahead of us.

We know nothing as yet about the new players, so you are being very arrogant about their abilities, of the four you have seen Voronin a couple of times and yet you managed to pigeon hole them all together, very perceptive, not.

Read some of the threads, it'll help you learn when to post and how. No offence intended.

Its certainly not our reserves (every player you have mentioned is/was member to our senior squad), i cant remember too many games when most of those players were not playing, crouch aside.

The fact that Rafa uses his rotation system is discussed elsewhere in this forum in greater detail, but also proves my point in that i would rate Benayoun higher then Zenden and thus when he does rotate players a better calibre is there ready to step up to the mark.

no offence taken by anyone - i do understand what you are all saying.

my point is this, by playing fringe players in the league does not match my ambition. 3rd/4th place was all but garanteed in say Feb,but in my opinion it sends out all the wrong signals about what this great club is all about. i believe that Rafa does not have the facilities to do his job and i dont think any of these players he has signed so far or being linked to players like benayoun and bent really send out a signal that next season liverpool will be contenders. i dont think we will be. again my opinion. I think that signing players like Etoo and Tevez is a move in the right direction. Voronin is a step back.

I've seen him play on both flanks, he is not a winger but a good operative in the oppositions half. Not a central midfielder though, closest i can compare him to which we already have is Garcia.

We'd all love Eto & Tevez, but you're going to have to break open your piggy bank, because i very much doubt that Rafa has a budget of £60m+ , especially for just 2 players.
