I fully accept your point ,but lets see who we've bought at the end of the transfer window. If benayoun turns out to be the sort of quality we buy and no better i'd happily agree with you , all that i'm saying is wait and see, before you judge . :)

Now do you think that ,that's the end of there signings , proberbly not.

If we sign benayoun , do you think it will be the end of our signings .

A little perspective is needed i think.

Exf'kiningzackerly Igor !

Some of the impatience on these boards is pathetic.

We all get excited about the prospect of waking up in the morning throwing on ssn, buying the paper and even logging on here hoping for transfer news, but some of the rubbish being posted on here about the club, the owners and potential targets is embarassing and annoying to read.

Hicks said that he would have a signing to excite the fans by the end of last week, we dont....does that mean he is an american money grabbing liar ?
Does it f'ck, what it probably means is that he was a bit naive with his statement by giving a time scale for wrapping up a signing, transfers through agents and clubs haggling over fees can drag on, and we know nothing about what our board are upto behind the scenes.
The people who are saying Hicks lied, ask yourself the question, wtf would he get out of it doing that ?
He is a top businessman and would not have stated that if he didnt have something on the horizon, even if it fell through at the time, the statement he made imo was genuine.
Give them a break and at least wait until we have somthing to complain about before complaining.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH

end of story. We shouldn't be going for second rate players like Benayoun. We need quality if we are ever going to challenge for the title.

He was good for West Ham in 05-06 but was a pile of shite last season (like many West Ham players).

I really thought we wouldn't have to buy players like Benayoun with the new owners coming in. I'll be disappointed if he signs and some more players that are at his level join. Of course I don't expect us to go out ans spend 100's of millions of pounds this summer but I'd of been happy with someone like Malouda.

I don't really think Benayoun would improve us.

What's that got to do with us?

They are the only team in Europe to have spent significantly.

And we can hopefully, it is June 14th. How many other big clubs have made significant moves already? Not many, La Liga - a league likely to be a place of interest for us - finishes this weekend, there is the u21 tournament on, there is plenty of time to do business.

To me its a spoof by Rafa. People are talking the money up so what does he do, he puts in a cheeky offer of a million to take the wind out of everyone's sails.

I just dont see why this is Parry's fault as some 'folks' suggested. These people need to get out more often for fresh air and stop blaming Parry for everything under the sun. Its tedious, its boring, bin Laden is far worse than Parry, everyone knows that.

Benayoun is a better player than many on here are suggesting, and he may surprise a few in my view. If he was the only player we were signing then there'd be a problem but he isn't, so we should probably put his signing into context.

Firstly, he will offer more than Zenden and Gonzales (I assume he can play wide left if asked) and secondly, he can challenge Pennant for the right wing slot while Gerrard moves inside. Thirdly, he is a ball-carrier, a mazy dribbler which we haven't got in the squad at the moment. The kind of guy who can pick it up in midfield, evade a tackle and weave a bit before getting brought down on the edge of the box. If he is picked up for a couple of mill' (three at the very most) he is not a bad buy. It's only because people are waiting for the big signing that they are up in arms, and the fact that he didn't play regularly for West Ham last season had more to do with their plight (he's hardly the type for a relegation battle) than with his ability. He wouldn't be my choice, but he's a decent enough player. At least those of you who keep sticking up for rotation are getting somebody of genuine Premiership ability to add into the "options" when we bung all the names in a hat at half past two every saturday.

I agree :) I think I stated already somewhere else that big names must be signed up, but this decent players aswell.

Can anyone confirm me if he's been playing the right ?
