Youssi benayoun - ?

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Postby Ian Rush's Right foot » Thu Jun 14, 2007 1:27 pm

On 14th June 2007 Reds chief executive Rick Parry declared “I can confirm we have made an approach for Yossi Benayoun, but the figures quoted are completely wrong,” “Other than that we don’t want to say any more.”

typical parry ???

Youssi would be a good player for us help give the squad some depth with we will desperatly need to battle upon all fronts.

I am gutted by this he was absolutly cr@p last season for west ham couldnt even get a game, also I didnt realise he was 27 hardly a spring chicken thats going to turn into a world beater like Ronaldo is he?
I will be seriously p.issed off if we sign him, he will NOT improve us.
If he is not good enough for the other 3 he is not good enough for us, I know people say we shouldnt compare but its about time we did because this is the reason them two have won the title and we have not.
Feel like Houllier is still the boss at times with some of these players named.

Wheres the wonga G & H.

To be honest Lynds I personally can't dismiss the mountain of negative reports coming from people supposedly 'in the know'. The only thing that has impressed me about the Yanks is the speed at which they seem to be progressing the stadium. It stops there, at this stage.

The noises coming from elsewhere suggest to me that things aren't going particularly well behind the scenes, at all. We all want the takeover to herald the beginning of something for this club, yet a large percentage of us look at the clearly annoyed comments of Rafa himself and of the journalist closest to the club and think 'what the f#ck is going on?'.

We're entitled to without it being called knee jerking.

i think he would give us more options. like when we lost garcia we didnt have anyone to replace him. benayoun is capable of causing the defenders probs. opposition defenders, not ours :)

I can't be arsed to validate Parry's statement  :(

Is the intention to play Benayoun as a 2nd striker? Because that is the only option. He is NOT a winger.

I suspect the quote from Parry is from the s*n. Just like the reports of Alan Smith issuing an ultimatum to Manchester United (he may not be world class, but he has some integrity and S*n apparently quoted him saying he was not happy).

we don't need him either. pennant, garcia and gerrard can all do a more than decent job on the right if needs be. the left side is in more urgent need of attention.

As Ive said in another thread id Much rather remove my own head than sign Benayoun. Hes not a bad player, dont get me wrong but if we are going to win the league we dont need players like Him.  Hes 27, in/ comng into his prime. This looks to me like is he comes he will play quite regularry. He wont come to a club in the best few footballing days of his careear and sit on the bench all season.
