He might not be a star signing that everyone is wishing for, but he will provide a few plus points to our current squad (I think anyway).
Garcia is our only real flair player which many have already touched on, what with him being injured for a large part of last year Rafa may feel that we really missed that spark in certain games and I think I could agree with that.
Luis also has no real competition for that spot, if Benayoun can add that and make Garcia a better or just more consistent performer then again I can see the deal being a good thing.
Finally even without being a player of the very top drawer I believe that he will provide more then both Zenden and Gonzalez so he will be improving the squad even if only by a lesser amount then we all are wishing for.

Let’s not forget that this will not be the only signing this summer so it could end up being a very minor reshuffle of our squad players!

Finally a balanced post. I agree Benanyoun is a good signing for us, I just don't see how it's going to push us on to this next required level (Competing for the Premiership Title)

While those down the road make top of the range Bentley type signings wer're still messing about with BMW 3 series

We need more than a good quality premiership player. We need Aat least 5 top top players, and we all know it!! :very angry

benayoun is not good enough - we need to be lookng at players like Etoo and Tevez - dont get me wrong, Benayoun would be a good signing for say Bolton - but not for us!
