Someone talking sense.  We need top top quality.

We also need honesty.  We're just not good enough!  If you take away Gerrard and Carra what have we got?

No Reina, Kuyt, Alonso, Agger and Masch are great and our little unpredictable Garcia who we missed greatly last season.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I know I've had to suffer this sh*t for over 15 years!  Don't know why I still bother, but you're born in to it.  It's loyalty.

You can sit there deluding yourself that we're at the right level to compete, but we've catergorically proved we're not during the premiership years.

Things were so good in the 80's!

i'll try mate - benayoun seems to have the odd good game for west ham and score the odd good goal. i have watched west ham a few times on sky last season and he never really stood out as a top quality or a world class player - surely that is obvious. dont get me wrong, he adapted to premiership football very well, unlike some playsers i.e shevchenko, and i like the fact he puts in 110 % most games for the w ham. he is not however, good enough to play for liverpool. no way. we need to look at signing some big name, world class players to take our team to the next level. i hear diego millito's name mentioned this morning - :censored:. not good enough. only players like Etoo etc can make our team any better. on seperate note players like Gonzalez, garcia, ardebola alike are equally not good enough.

Then why haven't we won the League? Ok, I'm a little biased towards the few homegrown players we have and you're probably right about alonso, reina & mascarano, but There is no way Crouch and Kuyt are top class players.  They have given 100%, especially Kuyt, a whole Hearted player in the Keegan mould, but where did we finish in the League with them - How many points behind the leaders :veryangry

You seem incapable of grasping what's happening to our beloved club.  When do you think we will win the league with the current players we have?

I don't see why you're all calling me a manc because I can grasp the realities we live with.

:censored: Bread - we do have the players in our first 11 now to push for the title, and i say again, 1 0r 2 world class players will make our team premiership champions.

No No you're right!  2 or 3 Quality signings in the Tevez\Eto mould and I agree we will have a good chance.

We've still got plenty of time left to do our business.  Bread stay calm man!! stay calm!

How many people thought Finnan was LFC standard when we signed him?
How many people thought "who the feck" when we signed Hyypia.

some of you guys really need to stop thinking you know it all, stop being so stuck up........and just trust in what the manager decides.

ffs

I agree he is not world class but he is a good player, and better then some squad players of last season.
I'm not for one minute saying he will become a first team player who will hold down a regular spot.
But as for the reasons I mentioned earlier he can make a good impact on our squad.
Unfortunately reality has to come into things and I think people like Eto are an extremely slim possibility; he is in a successful team in Spain earning good money and winning things.
A, I can't see Barca wanting to sell him if they did it would be for an absolutely extortionate amount.
B, does Eto necessarily want to leave!

We can all have dreams of what we want and I too would love him here, but can I see it happening, no not really.
Tevez would be the ideal player for us, I think again it depends on how extortionate the cost would be and the clubs desires. I think it’s fair to say he fancies Inter because of the huge Argentine influence there!
