Typical answer of an agent, but we know for a fact now that there's not an official bid over the table, because agents are always eager to say that to increase the value of the player and give a note to other clubs, or press the club so that he offers more wages to a player.

My god give them a chance. The window hasn't been open for two weeks and already you are questioning the owners commitment. Agreeably it is frustrating seeing the mancs splashing the cash and our transfer sights have been lowered from supposedly signing players like eto'o, Villa and tevez(possibly) to what many consider cr.ap alternatives (Forlan - is cr@p I agree) and Milito (who I do like).

Gillette & Hicks' motivation for buying Liverpool is to make money out of the club, that is just the same as the owner of nearly every other club in the sport. However they would be stupid not to realise that in this game you've gotta speculate to accumulate. I for one don't think they're that stupid, especially if they've both accumulated multi billion dollar fortunes.

I'm guessing you weren't a happy bunny when we signed Ince then either.

Just for the record I don't want Forlan, just don't see how he could suddenly become a top goalscorer over here after having already failed once.

Forlan, impressive in some games, and anonymous in others. He is a very good striker, but not premiership type.

Diego Militio is premiership type, i rate him.

Is forlan really worth 16 - 18 million? Imo Hes not worth that. Okay Hes had a couple of Good seasons in spain, but 18m for someone who couldnt prove himself in the premiership is just not something i see happening. Plus the fact he was at Man Utd, not some mid table side.

You can buy Owen twice for that sort of money, and Forlan isn't half the player Owen is.

The only way I woud agree to buy Owen for 9 million would be if Forlan was valued at 16. I dont mind spending money but lets not waste it - but then again anyone who thinks Forlan is worth 16 is on drugs.
