Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Leonmc0708 » Sat Jun 16, 2007 6:20 pm

I am livid once again.

We are the greatest club in europe, we have retained the European Cup in 1977 and 1978 and won coutless leagues and we need to push on.

We need to strangthen whilst we are in our prime.

so why the fu.ck are we shopping at Kwik Save and signing this skinny little Rush whippet of a kid from Chester City when we should be shopping at Harrods ?

Once again the ambition of the club lets us down.

We need to sign players of the calibre of Rumminige, Conti, Rossi or Zico and not no mark unproven youngsters from Great Britian.

Top stuff this.

I'm looking forward to when you get to the Souness era, personally.

Too right Leon but you know what our problem is dont you - they want to build the new tier on the Kemlin Road stand and its taken all the money - invest in the ground or players and they've gone with the ground. I dunno, but history might repeat itself, you never know.

I think Forest will win the European Cup this year.

And John Lennon is on my dead pool list for 1980.

Not sure why, but I just have a bad feeling.

I thought - "heh heh, let's have a dig through the Book Of Hit Singles and see what sh*t was number 1 then to make people feel old".

But f*cking hell! That month it was:
The Jam - Going Underground
The Detroit Spinners - Working My Way Back To You
Blondie - Call Me

and then the first number 1 of May was:
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Geno

That's about as good a run of number 1s as I've ever seen.

What a p*sser that I was only 2 and didn't get to appreciate it.

I think rush didn't score for his first nine games. Apparently he went to see the manager (Bob Paisley I suppose it would have been) who told him to be more greedy and the rest is history. Rush worked as hard as Bellamy does if he is really wound up, in every single minute of every single game. Brilliant movement and could finish with both feet and his head. Wonderful striker who if he was around today, would be absolutely priceless.

Was just thinking about players we signed from Middlesboro as well. I remember another bloke, Aussie FFS what do they know about football. Craig fecking Johnson. Turned out to be a fecking good player as well, ran almost as far during a game as Terry Mac.

You gotta give it to the managers, they were well into hairstyles. Shanks bought Keegan with a perm and Bob bought Souness with an afro and Johnston with a mullet.

This could be a clue to who Rafa might buy this month?
