Notice to ALL members:
Please please please have a word with yourself before you start making a wolly of yerself and posting the desperate, tedious and frankly embarrasing transfer speculation threads.
Before you start a new thread, demanding Rafa buy this player, Parry pulls his finger out or demand to know to the cent how much Tom and George are putting Rafas way, please consider the following:
[+] Liverpool football Club never talks about targets, the directors are never invited to discuss targets and the players will not be privvy to the information either.
[+] Liverpool Football Club never courts transfer targets using the media. So dont expect to see hundreds of stories all over the news and big sagas.
[+] Liverpool Football Club signings are 99% of the time revealed only when the ink is drying on the contracts. Rafa's list will be for his and the big bosses eyes only.
[+] Lots of strikers will not make it in this country, in fact lots of players in any position will not. Look at Morientes and Forlan as examples, both scored prolifically before AND after joining Liverpool and United respectively. Both flopped big time in this country.
[+] Sky Sports, the newspapers and most other media outlets esixt only to make money. The best way to make money is to get traffic, sell papers or the like. You dont sell papers or get web traffic by reporting nohting, so therfore they report anything and attribute the info to "sources close to the club". These sources dont exist.
[+] The amount of money made available for Rafa to purchase players will never be known by anyone outside the clubs four walls. It would be folly to let people know your budget, the prices would hit Chelsea levels.
[+] I have personally, whilst metres away in the same room, heard Rick Parry confirm that Rafa will have substansial money available for hte purchase of his targets. From the horses mouth is not in it. . . .
[+] Rafa most likely pool of playing talent, La Liga, still has one more weekend to play before finishing - this will impact on hte dates and times of people signing.
[+] The European transfer window does not officially open for another two and a half weeks. Whilst deals can be agreed, they cannot be officially recognised by hte governing bodies until after this date. This makes any tranfers of players under contract impossible.
Breathe people, please.
