Do the Americans provide more transfer funds than DIC would have.  DIC seemed to have bottomless pockets and I thought the Americans were providing something DIC couldnt.

I don't think anyone knows conclusively, but it would appear that DIC had more access to funds given their backer is Sheikh Maktoum.

Initially it was Gillett who proposed a deal, but he wasn't wealthy enough to fund the whole project, so he came back with Hicks as a partner.

The DIC deal fell through due to a demand on their part for a decison to be made within their deadline - something Moores did not accept. So we ended up with Hicks and Gillett!

But don't think DIC would have given Rafa a blank cheque, these arabs are very savvy business people who didn't get to where they were by being profligate with money.

He has a wonderful strike with both feet and a good eye for the ball.

But I guess I'll get killed for saying that since he's a former manure player...

but plz take a look at the goals here. Left foor, right foot, doesn't matter.

On the other hand:

Well, that was ONE miss. Everyone can miss once.
And he just lost his confidence after awhile at old toilet cause he was used more and more as sub.
Just think he has a great strike of the ball, left or right and that is unusual.

Forlan is a definite no no. If Benitez signs him he's making a big mistake. But I doubt he'll sign him. Just think about it...a player who had had trouble settling in premiership will always have trouble. he was a failure at man u...a club where average strikers usually score tons of goals...how many did he score? i don't know but i'm thinking very few...and he really looked like the worse player when he was playing at man u...a player like that have adapting problems...look at morientes, veron, reyes...nough said...

Where's all this money we were promised?  I was under the impression that Rafa could spend what he wanted, but now we here that is not the case. Just read in the Echo that we haven't got the type of money to go after the Eto'os of this world and that we have to lower our standards. WTF!!
Looks like we're shopping at Asda and Tescos again while Manure and Chavski shop at Waitrose.

Panic stations, the Echo have said we're doomed.

We're 9 days into a 3 month transfer window, I'm sure we'll see some activity next week. La Liga isn't finished either.

Unlike most of you, I rate Forlan very highly..

I think most of you are silly for worrying that we might sign him, though:

1. He loves Man Utd, and he's even said when interviewed that one of the major highlights of his career was when he scored twice against us.

2. His get-out clause is like 16 million punds.

This is a :censored: rumor..

He says closely followed by the Sunday rags running stories of the mancs launching a bid for Tevez.   ???  :;):

I posted elsewhere on here today that I think Hicks showed a little bit of inexperience in the footballing world by 'blabbing' that they were hoping to announce a very exciting signing by the end of last week. We all expected a press conference to be held around Friday and we got nothing. He's just added to the speculation and uncertainty hanging around the club and with each passing day the fans are all gonna get a little bit more anxious and more and more wild rumours and questions about the new owners commitment to the club and Rafa's plans.
For now we must remain patient and not let these ridiculous rumours about all not being well unsettle us and our affinity to Liverpool Football Club and just trust that things are going on behind the scenes. The time for recriminations will first come at 00:01 on September 1st depending on who we've signed and how the team have started the season.

Then again, being linked with manc shite cast off ain't helping anybody.  :D
