Mr hicks interview - Just watched it on ssn

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby cpc4eva » Tue Jun 05, 2007 6:11 pm

"The design is now final," he enthused, "it's spectacular and I can't wait for everybody to see it. I think our fans will love it. It's very creative architecture, very contemporary but also unique to Liverpool. "It is all centered around the Kop - it will be the symphony stage that plays to the symphony hall."

my fingers crossed for an 80,000 super wonder kop stadium.....     :buttrock

60,000 will not be good enough.....

the tension of the new stadium plans and which players  will be coming into the club are killing me - i cant go into work this week....

The stadium news is brilliant, I imagine the whole stadium revolving around a new kop end that replicates a symphony house in shape, the yanks have encouraged that sort of stadium style on this side of the border. Simao and Eto would be absolutely amazing, I think Tevez is going to United however.

I do wanna sound like a killjoy and I know it's hard not to let ourselves get carried away with thoughts of who the first signing may be but speculating on whether it's gonna be Tevez or Eto'o is only going to lead to disappointment if it's not. I'd love to see one of these two as well but something is telling me that it may not be.

I haven't seen the whole of the interview myself but I have seen his criticism of UEFA and Gaillard and I have to say; What a legend, calling Gaillard a clown  :D  :bowdown . Take notes Parry, that is how you make a headline grabbing response to slanderous remarks on our club.  :buttrock

I can't wait to see the new design for the stadium. I've been waiting with baited breath ever since they announced they were going to redesign the plans. I very much doubt there'll be any increase in capacity. It's already been made clear on many occasions that the capacity can't be increased without going through a new planning process which would set the project back about 2-3 years I think.

Apparently he's also said that we need to be much more consistent next season and that we need to do much better on the road, especially against the teams below us in the table.  Not a unique observation, I grant you, but a useful reminder to Rafa and the lads that the boss (or bosses) is learning the game and is adjusting his (their) expectations accordingly.  The money will be there but the guys writing the cheques know the score and will want to see results next season.

"We lost far too many games on the road, particularly to lesser teams.

Hicks should have added the words ".....like Everton" after the above statement.

Cant wait for this.

Would love it to be Eto'o, or Tevez, or Villa

Simao would be good

Can't be Alves unfortunately

Im thinking it will be Malouda though

Ive this gut feeling about it too. All this over hype of eto'o and villa, tevez ect. i reckon the "big signing this week that the pool fans will be happy with" is malouda. he did state that someone needs to contact him bout a move soon or he aint going nowhere. I feel that it wont be till a few weeks down the line when we start getting the bigger names... hope im wrong! let it be one of the big boys this week!!! :D
