I have no idea where you get the perception that Zenden and Gonzales are made scapegoats by some fans, nor do I understand how you reach the conclusion that the rest of the team become personal favourites. Most people appraise each player on their own and judge how they fit into the TEAM.
In the case of Gonzalez, I have to admit he simply played badly and that's all. Although I agree his doom came since we lost against Manchester United away. I think it's a common thing to have passionate fans. And passionate fans, when they lose against an archenemy, they tend to seek villains. If you win against an archenemy, the scoring player is forgiven of all his sins and becomes a hero. I think there's nothing strange in that, just passionate and common reactions.
In the case of Zenden, sometimes he played badly, but sometimes he didn't, but if the score wasn't good, rotations were criticised and Zenden was put an example of why we lost or drew a game, when he wasn't the worst player in the pitch whatsoever.
I agree Zenden is not good enough for this Liverpool, but I also agree his name was mentioned a bit harshly after *some* games this season in this forum.
