Well, I love watching my sports, football obviously, a bit of rugby now and then, a bit of tennis, golf's good to play but a bit boring to watch IMO.

As for TV programmes, I'm more into my documentaries/cultural programmes like Planet Earth/blue planet - that was cracking to watch. A bit of macintyre investigates is pretty amusing, soccer am from time to time, the apprentice is pretty good, Only fools is top, Monty python, the two ronnies.

I can't stand soaps/reality tv/MTV/talk shows/jeremy Kyle-esque shows/Jerry springer/my wife married a russian cosmonaut while I was away type shows/ CSI/ American crime scene murder homicide investigation etc...../ ITV drama/ Graham norton/ Pop idol/ music idol/ x factor/ Prancing on Ice/ how to find a horse like Maria/ any star will do/ you know those copycat shows/ Some of these American comedies get on my t!ts - Graham and WIll or whatever it is/ Frasier - the ones where they end up in a coffee shop talking about random sh!t type of shows.

That's about it I think, any more and I'll let you know.

Blimey, you must get to watch about 2-3 hours of telly a week in your house with all the cr@p on nowadays.
I do think that there are some quality shows from america on the box these days (mostly on $ky) 24, The Unit, Sleeper Cell, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Two and a Half Men, Becker, the list goes on.

I think that $ky are bloody expensive as well (luckily I don't have to foot the bill  :D ) but for a wide variety of television I think that the terrestrial channels have a lot to live upto. I know they don't have the financial muscle of $ky but at the end of the day if they spent more time developing original shows instead of all this reality and chat show shite like Big brother, Fame Academy/Poop Idol & Jerry Springer rip-offs (don't like the original either) then so many people wouldn't be driven to $ky to get some decent TV.  :buttrock

Dawson, take the plunge I say. Yes it's gonna cost money but the only other way you'll get yer Prison Break fix is waiting months and months and months for the DVD release (and I bet they do it in two parts as well).

No one can resist Sky.

Give in and get it. And when you do, tell them that Manhattan recommended it to you, so then I'll get loads of free stuff and will be adopted by Rupert Murdoch or something.

Well from next season Setanta sports will be giving them a challenge for their premiership coverage, is that good for the customer?

isnt it setanta and virgin.

sky are fooking leeches, they are in dispute now with virgin, theyve pulled some of there channels from cable in a underhand way of getting customers to swap over.

lets hope branson gives murdoch a run for his money.

I think you can watch Setanta sports via virgin media as well as sky, but Setanta own 2 of 6 premier league packages beginning next season, virgin don't.

Although I think the two are probably conspiring to try and break the monopoly sky has on sports programmes, especially after the fiasco over which channels would be kept as part of Virgin Media's service.

I dont suppose Dawson could start watching the following with as much interest? It would be great if the curse continued. I'll do my list anyway and hope for the best (the curse that is sky):

Graham Norton
Big Brother
The Joseph rubbish on 1
The Grease rubbish on 3
Strictly Come Dancing
Eastenders
Coronation Street
Emmerdale
Our Regional News (may have to move to lincolnshire for this one)
Peter & Jordan (or whatever its called, just the ads for this cack makes me ill)

I'll add more if this works ! With hope and thanks!
Bill Shankly: “I was the best manager in Britain because I was never devious or cheated anyone. I’d break my wife’s legs if I played against her, but I’d never cheat her.”

It's totally to the fans disadvantage this bollox that the EU have imposed. As I was reading on RAWK earlier, the armchair fan will now have to pay the minimum subscription of £34p/m for Sky Sports plus £5p/m for three months and then £15p/m thereafter for Setanta sports.

$ky Sports = £408* per year

Setanta Sports = £150 this year.

Total = £558 for one years viewing of all premiership football. Compare this to last season when at minimum you'd have paid:

$ky Sports = £408*

Prem Plus = £50 season ticket.

Total = £458 pounds.

*Based on current price for the minimum required to receive $ky Sports.

How is that better for the fans? The idea in principal of spreading the rights around was good but as usual hasn't been implemented properly. As a poster on RAWK pointed out, the bureaucrats have possibly naively thought that spread the rights about and the companies would enter into a price war. Not gonna happen when only one broadcaster is getting the rights to each game i.e. both broadcasters can't show the same game. It would have been better for the fans had a requirement been put in place that one of the TV packages had to go to a terrestrial or free to view broadcaster.
