Nearly right Scotty!
It was in fact taken from Franklin D Roosevelt's inaugral address after being elected President in 1933. His aim was to fire enthusiasm in the general public so that the USA could lead themselves out of the terrible depression in the 1930's.
Seems quite apt really!
And before you ask - it was even before my time - so I never heard it live. (But I know a man who did).

My worst fears are (1) Stephen Gerrard leaving and (2) the board being too impulsive and hasty appointing a new manager (they need to think long and hard about the next boss!!)

I think that, my first fear is by far and away the aspect that I dred the most. Stephen Gerrard - in my opinion is one of the ten best players in the world (perhaps higher) when he is at the top of his game. He has the unique ability to play 'killer' passes through our oppositions defence without even haven't to think about it. He is naturally talented and it would be one of the worst days in Liverpool Football Club's history if he left.

When Steve Mcmanaman was at Anfield, I thought he was a genious with a football, but Gerrard is in a different league - he is our god.
"People Say football is a matter of life and death" , " I believe it is much more important than that", Bill Shankly.

1. That the board will appoint a bad manager and Liverpool will fall further from grace and wind up in a similiar position to Tottenham
2.  That this Thai deal has a hidden agenda beyond the attempt to raise the Thai PM's popularity in his own country.

1 Gerrard leaving.

2 Benitez turning out to be another GH.

Relistically, I don't think that we will be in a position to challenge for the title for three years. The gap between us and the top three is immense. But if we can at least close the gap, then Gerrard and Owen may be persuaded to stay.

MY BIGGEST FEARS ARE!!!

LIVERPOOL SELLING SHARES TO ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE UK

NOT GETTING THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE MANAGERS SEAT LIKE WE HAVE B4
When you get the ball, I want you to beat a couple of men and smash the ball into the net, just the same way you used to at Bury," said Shankly. Lindsay replied: "But Boss that wasn't me, it was Bobby Kerr." Shankly turned to Bob Paisley and said: "Christ Bob, we've signed the wrong player."

1. That Liverpool will forget just how  big a club they  are !
2. That the fans will fail to remember just what being a true

The thought of just scoring 1 goal wins you the match. (something like England against France or Portugal).
With our quality strikers, we must score as many as possible. We can't sit back and defend. Unless you are 5-0 up by half-time. How Arsenal destroyed us.........  sad moment.

Next is the lack of desire to win. Last season I seen many played football as a job. There was no passion in the game, thus no will to win. SG, Riise and Carra were exception. Week in week out, the rest of the players knows they'll be payed their $$ whether win or lose.
