One who we'd consider an automatic choice, one who's name would be one of the first names penciled in on a team sheet every week. Pennant could play second fiddle to him or back-up I think if that could happen we'd have strength and depth in that area.

But its easy just to say we'd blah blah or I like blah blah especially when we have the very slow moving Rick Parry to get a deal signed. Other positions are more important aswell and it depends on the amount of cash Rafa has to spend.

Your right there, we are all harping on about 4-5 signings, yet can anyone see Parry overseeing the transfer of top class players in 10 weeks? He moves as quick as a constipated intestine.

If we don't sign a new right winger/midfielder, I would be all for young Paul Anderson being given a chance. He's been the main man in the reserves for two seasons now, Guthrie & Peltier have been given their chance in the Carling Cup, I can't believe Anderson hasn't yet. I know there's a big difference between the reserves & the first team, but if he doesn't get a chance we'll never know.

Anderson is rated by many as one of our best prospects, I 've seen him on a couple of occassions fro the reserves and he does look to have a lot of pace, good touch and a quality strike. I would be very surprised if we didn't see him getting a chance in the league cup next season. I can't see him getting a chance in the league, unless we have serious injury problems but you never know - Rafa may throw him into a home game against one of the lesser opposition.

I just wonder if Anderson's another Partridge never quite big enough or good enough to make the breakthrough. Hopefully he will get his chance and take it with both hands.

Pennant has shown that he has improved his game.

The last stages of the season were proof of this.

But for a winger.

His crosses are horrible.

Let's all pray he learns how to kick a ball sideways.

PLEASE!

Fuck alves! he is a pile of steaming dung

Finnan is as solid as a rock and does not need replacing, and alves is not a RW he is a RWB

We need Noel Hicky, he knows what he's doing.

Yeah Pennants definately improved. I'd put him on the right and Gerrard in the middle. I agree Pennants crosses can be better but its something he improved on last season.

Who was the genius on here campaigning for 2 season that Pennant was a world class winger?

Well now that we've got him, he's proven he's not
