Just want to say to all the people who are unhappy that we havent signed anybody yet, the spanish league.....where most of our major targets could come from still has a couple of weeks to run so its very unlikely that any of the likes of Villa, Torres Eto'o, Silva Milito or Alves will move until a week after there season is over, unless deals are agreed in principal...but if you were Sevilla would you want Alves distracted by transfer talk ?
If i was Juande Ramos i would insist that he cant even speak to another club until there season is over.
It may be frustrating and in an ideal world we would all love to have signings sorted by now but even the other players we are linked with like Tevez and Malouda, they may not be first choice or highest in Rafa's list of potential signings.
Within 3 weeks there should be major activity, of that i am sure.

Surely not EVERY target plays in la liga. There must be at least one who dusnt play in spain, Likely to be Malouda.  Also getting alot of players from Spain is a risk in itself. Wating another 3 weeks to get them from spain. Then if he did get who he wanted they wont have a long time to settle in. Say Rafa dosent get the players he wants. We would be left with 2nd 3rd choice again.

A fair number of the actual targets on Rafa's list will probably be from la liga but another reason why we may not see any major movement for the next week or so will be the internationals. The players we're likely to see him targetting will mostly be established international players so they will be away with their national squads.

I think that people are getting itchy feet and a bit anxious just because the scum have splashed so much this week on three players. I also think that has been a bit of a catalyst for these stupid Rafa resigning rumours (holds breath starts to sweat and hopes that statement doesn't come back to bite me on the ass Image. When you look around they are really the only big team europe-wide who have started the transfer activity.
In all honesty as long as they can conclude a deal or two in the next couple of weeks then I can't see there being too much of a problem in getting prime targets. I only see there being a problem if the board and Parry in particular stay sat firmly on their hands should another team start sniffing round any of Rafa's main target recruits.

Juventus are reported to have tabled a bid for Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko.

Sissoko has fallen out of favour at Anfield following the arrival of Javier Mascherano from West Ham in January.

The Mali international has stated his frustration at his current situation with Rafa Benitez's men, and could be open to a new challenge.

Sissoko's future in England is therefore in doubt, despite still having three years remaining on his contract, and Barcelona are also thought to be interested.

Liverpool are unwilling to sell Sissoko to another English club, but may be tempted by Juventus' attractive offer.

The Italian giants are rumoured to be offering The Reds between €15million and €20million (£10m-£13.5m) for Sissoko.

Meanwhile, Juventus are also reported to be interested in Lyon's out-of-favour midfielder Alou Diarra, who is also a target for Everton, Bordeaux and Marseille

Well if thats true I'd take the money 10-13 million, thats more than double what we paid I believe. Also that means Alonso will be with us next season I'm guessing, if Momo left and Xabi  stayed I'd be happy with that, thats decent money for someone who cant really pass.  :D

I would have preferred him to stay, but if we need the money midfield is one area we can afford to lose a player to strengthen elsewhere. See Alonso thread for further details

Alves looked very average last night playing for Brazil.

Could be just a bad night...but he didn't look worth what we would have to pay to me.

Its Brazil in a friendly. Its more like an exhibition for them.  Alves is quality and his form for seville proves that.

After seeing him last night there's no way I'd want him playing for us.
