Strikers - Rotation?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Some people are in favour of rotation so that if we have a 60 game season, each of our front 3 would play 40 games and be fresh.

I think that whoever the boss fields is the best partnership should be the front two every game, with the odd rest.

All this assumes no injuries (Owen?).

What do you think? keep all three fairly happy and fresh or as I believe play consistent and in form.

Come on lads. Are we supporters of Liverpool or Owen-supporters, Baros-supporters and Cisse-fans? 3 point for Liverpool is what it is all about. (And 3 pints for me :D )

Of course we should rotate... but our best players should play in the big games when possible.

Yes may the 2 best strikers on form play in the big games regardless of who they are!

Everyone seems to be goin on about the strikers and who should play upfront but i dont see this as an issue, we have three very good strikers, a crackin young striker in pongo and a great manager who will get the best out of them, i just hope the midfield and defense can match wots gonna be a great front line whoever starts.

Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.

I am not so sure if there is a future now for Pongolle?? Only time will tell but after hearing all these rumours about Benitez wanting one of Kluivert, Mido and Mista is there a future for a young boy who will be itching to play and not be starting the season forth in line?

Maybe a season out on loan again for the youngster but id keep him in the prem or in the 1st divison, it did no harm for forsell and other strikers and it will be good for him to get consistent games at this level and boost his confidence

id do the same with neil mellor offer him to norwich or west brom he will have a better chance there to gain some expierence of the prem then in the reserves at liverpool plus we will get to see if he can cut it at our level

If we want to win the league and have a good crack at the champs lge then we need AT LEAST 3 very good strikers who can be relied upon to find goals regularly.  Strikers more than any other position rely on confidence and no player will be of world class form for every minute of every game in a season.  Weve seen it with Owen and we know that he seems to pick up at least one injury a season. Relying on 2 strikers is what happened last season (with Baros injured for alot) and we really struggled to find goals.
It makes me laugh when you hear speculation eg Baros will want to leave because there is too much competition- either you are in a team that competes for trophies and therefore you compete for your place or you sign for Eveton and play every match but win nothing.
Whoever plays best should start- anyone who doesnt want it can leave.  I hate to point to the eg of manure but without Ole- Gunar Solschaer's (cant spell) humble attitude they would of won far less trophies. Thats the kind of (rare) player we need.
