What we need is someone to play right up front and let kuyt do the running, justa poacher who can hit the target. joaquin not world class..mmm..dont know about that...he had a shaky start but he seems to be setting the world alight with valencia this season..been brilliant for them...

manutd...dont have a poacher..have outscored all other premiership clubs... u dont essentially need a poacher if you can create enough chances and have good forwards... Roma ? Milan (inzaghi isnt half the poacher he used to be despite his efforts in the final) ?

i would be just as dissapointed as any if we dont sign a class forward next season...but just thinking aboout it...made sense when i posted ! mmmm...

one world class striker would be amazing, id love that 25 goal a season player we desperately need. one world class winger.

Rafa over the last 3 years has beuilt a good squad, now he needs to add one or 2 world class every year, not 5 or 6...just my views tho.

About Joaquin:
"world class" has a subjective definition to it, what you consider "world class" is clearly not what me and Dawson consider it to be.

And as for Manure, they have no recognised poacher (with the exception of Larsson who came in), but they have exceptional creative talent on the wings, in midfield and upfront. Talent we just don't have, and talent you can't go out and buy in one summer transfer window, it has developed over three seasons.

That is why I consider a poacher a more viable option for us.

What does it take to win the prem, better players, no rotation and play a settled side week in week out.

I also think we may have a very big problem at the club with most of these spanish players coming in and those who speak spanish, should he leave they will go with him.
We will be going around in circles again like when Houllier signed all French or french speaking players.
There will be cliques in our dressing room with , some players not understanding a word what Carra or Gerrard say.
Should another manager come in he will want his own players, then another mass exodus.

Ive been watching a few old Liverpool vids over the last few days Rush Barnes etc etc.
I cannot actually believe we are the same club that played with such attacking flair, goals galour and winning everything in sight to what we have become now.
Ok the game was slower then but FFS some of our current players dont even break out in a sweat.
What has happened to our never say die attitude?
Unfortunatly there is only a hand full of players currently at the club that knows what it means to pull on that red jersey and Rafa needs to start wiping the floor with them if they dont give blood sweat and tears for LFC.
He says he reads books about Shanks and Paisley, he must be skipping pages in the books about playing a settled side week in week out.

The screams will be unmercyful next season when we are once again out of the title race come October.

We are great in Europe but we need to get our act together in that prem away from home and that is down to one man the manager he has to be more attack minded and :censored:

worrying what other teams are going to do.

Have to agree about being more attack minded...We were too defensive under houllier....And looks like we are going back to the bad old days of non-attacking fullbacks....

But still wouldn't want rafa to leave...he has made too many changes here

worldclass as in D.Silva..Joaquin...Robben...Mancini...Messi...Vicente
i realize that most of these players arent realistic targets but maybe D.Silva and Joaquin ..maybe Mancini if we make a big offer...u never know

Crouch imo can score 20 or 30+ goals a season if we rely on our winger to do most of the work.. maybe even go for a 4-5-1 formation sometimes which is also called 4-3-3 with 2 attacking wingers acting as supporting strikers..

looking back at our season...not only was our finishing poor... but we also -more often than not- didnt look dangerous going forward... we mostly had posession but no clearcut scoring opportunities.. just a crazy thught but thought id share it

It takes just what the other top teams have done.World class players that sadly we have a few.LFC has too many avarage/ok players, the Riises,all the forwards, wings etc.Until we stop deluding ourselves by thinking strikers like Kuyt, Crouch and Veronin can hand us the league this question will be be here for long.The manager should also change tactics and Ciggy is right.We have been playing boring, predictable, defensive footie for long.
