how about we have a lockdown (i.e. when no new members can join) just before and after a major LFC game (final, derby, man utd games etc) so we don't get as many WUMs?

Alot of other forums do it and it seems successful.

A suspension of new accounts being registered immediately after major games is needed.

Not because we can't take banter, but rather because the "banter" usually consists of Heysel and Hillsborough mocking.

Agree with you Adam...

It would keep our forum for us alone and no 'aliens'..

It would be a shame for any genuine newbees...but there should be enough time afterwards for the ones that mattered to register.

* It will make reading experience for regular posters better.
* It will make mod's work easier.
* It will encourage the newbies to read first, post later.

Oh and I agree with Adam, personally I wouldn't let the bitters on here at all, or Chelsea fans, or Manc fans for that matter.

I know I do the Oppo so I am a bit of a cheeky get for saying this.

Thinking on, for finals it could be used to combat touts etc and cheeky requests for tickets from posters with one post.

I hope mods and admin can discuss this as a real possibility for the future.

Its a tricky one because some is just banter, footballing insults as in HAHA ! YOU LOST !
but you do get the really bitter ones who mention past events which have nothing to do with football and all they are doing is inflaming everyones emotions because of the defeat in football.
Someone had an idea of leaving it 2 weeks or so when you first register before you can host a topic or reply, im all for that.

I think we would lose a lot of new members if we make people wait two weeks before posting, but a lockdown a couple of days before and after big games would be great.

Nice idea that i have seen a few Milan pics flying about but what the feck do Everton have to slag about they were out of Europe in 2 games and thats the CL and the Uefa Cup. :laugh:
