Rafa Benitez did not cost us the final, and anyone that claims otherwise needs to get their head checked. His tactics first half were absolutely spot on, but we looked weary from 65 minutes on.

Kewell didn't really get the space Zenden had first half, and once Finnan faded (he looked knackered with half hour to go), the threat on the right from Pennant just disappeared.

To be honest, for all our quality, there weren't many clear-cut chances. Gerrard should've done better with his opening, but he was great tonight in all other respects. In one-off games like this, we need an opportunist in the box that's more prolific off scraps. Milan had Inzaghi. We didn't really get anything in the box apart from Kuyt's goal, but it was too late by then.

Let's not forget it was a great run we had this season, beating some very good sides. I think on balance over the two finals between us and Milan over the last few years, we should be happy to take one each. I'd have loved us to have won, but maybe another shot at the CL final came a bit too soon for some of our players.

I just don't understand why rafra has to put crouch till the 75th mins and not the start of the second half.

How can people complain? We totally outplayed this so called great team that thrashed united, Kaka was totally absent tonight and the only thing we lacked tonight was what weve lacked all season, someone who can take the half chances that we get. The team and us fans can walk away knowing that we lost because of luck and not because we were poorer than them. They had few chances compaired to us but they took them and we didnt.

and how many chances did the possesion create? No point in having loads of the ball and not doing anything with it.

but we didnt create any real chances. I cant say we deserved to win the game.

This is the CL Final and a game there to be won. We didnt go out and attempt to win the game. Mascherano was awesome

Mascherano was good on the pitch. i love his style of shutting kaka down..

I didn't want to say it, but I haven't felt confident about this game even before we qualified.

We were dead unlucky with the first goal, but we seemed to freeze in the second half.

I found both Zenden and Kewell to be ineffective, very disappointed in Kewells work ethic to be honest, he just seemed to shrink as the game moved on.

Wasn't too impressed with Pennant either as I felt he overcomplicated his game too much and could have whipped a lot more crosses in than he did.

Lastly, we never looked like scoring tonight I didn't think. It isn't anything we haven't discussed already...we miss people who find the back of the net by accident. Why we didn't throw Bellamy on I do not know and go all out. I can only assume that Rafa was thinking about extra time and keeping our formation, but that ain't much use when you aren't going to get there.

Ref was unusual as well, but at least the commentator was red eh?

Disappointed. Onwards and upwards.

Kewell had 2 against 1 all the time, couldn't do anything.
masherano going off is the crucial mistake Rafa had made.
