THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL - AC MILAN VS LIVERPOOL

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Well, that was disappointing..

We played fairly well today, but the decision to play Kuyt as our lone striker and the fact that we had to use Zenden cost us..

Zenden needs to learn how to pass a football.

the second goal came about because mascherano was absent to sniff out the danger and we left gaps as people like fecking Kewell never do theri bit of tracking back.

Now Rafa was just arguing that the ref blew the wistle far too soon. You got your tactics wrong, mate, no use demonstrating that way. I feel sorry for the lads who worked so hard adn had a good game, Reina, Carra, Agger, Mascherano and Pennant. Gerrard was asked to do too much and Kuyt did his best to toil alone and dropping back a lot because he did not have a partner to trouble the Milan defense.

I feel sorrier for the travelling fans, great bunch of lads.

Rafa was too negative.  Milan offered nothing going forward.  Should of brought on a striker earlier and went for the win.  Zenden is a disgrace and how anyone can defend his selection is beyond me.  How people can rave over Pennent when he does nothing.  He gets load of the ball but wastes it time and time again.  Gerrard behind the striker is BS.  He has to start wide or in midfield.

Im disappointed but now reality should kick in.  Get rid of the average players as they just do not cut it.

Again this problem with "floaty" crosses. It just doesn't work. Crosses need to be whipped with momentum into the penalty area and across the six-yard box. I'm sure Rafa will buy in the summer and address the issue.

:( Unlucky tonight lads, it just wasnt meant to be. The best team lost on the night and thats not a rose tinted view its a fact, but it doesnt matter. No one remembers who was the better team all that matters is the name on the trophy. In all honesty the best team lost the last time we played them, maybe this was payback.

Im not going to start complaining about who should have done what, who should have played or Rafas tactics, team selection or subs. I would rather discuss this night with a bit of dignity and pride

We had chances on the night to win it as did Milan, they took theirs we didnt

It was good to see harry back tonight, and i now look forward to what should be an exciting time for LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB. The changes will be made in the summer and hopefully we can push on and improve our league position and continue our love affair with the Champions league to

Well done tonight lads, its hard to take right now but you tried your best, it just wasnt meant to be

we are the better team but not necessary played better to win (if you know what I mean). Both goals I think are down to Carra (although I have to watch the moves leading to the free kick that gavethem the first goal again)...poor chap had a massive season for us but he was all spent force today! I thought we had a great chance to win today if not for our two wingers who can't cross, and we didn't test Dida half as what we should!

Am down but not too gutted though...coz I believe our best season are just ahead of us. We had a good core, just need a few last touches :;):

We lost the game, not because they were superior but we had the wrong players on - Zenden and then Kewell - and Kuyt all alone up front. We lost to a poor Milan, they were much more formidable in 2005. Milan were clearly afraid of Crouch but we only let them worry about Kuyt all alone up front. At least we should have had more pace up front.

go i hate to say this as well but i dont think he got iot that wrong, we were all over them in the first half and we did not do too bad in the second. some bad passing by Zenden and that was about it.

Rafa's tactics were spot on in terms of stopping Milan play however what did they do for us an attacking force?  He changed it too late and we paid for it.  Kuyt up on his own is not going to work.

This is the CL Final and a game there to be won.  We didnt go out and attempt to win the game.  Mascherano was awesome
