THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL - AC MILAN VS LIVERPOOL

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Kharhaz » Tue May 22, 2007 10:53 pm

All you hear is AC Milan bitching about 2 years ago, other fans praying Liverpool lose and Milan actually playing attractive footy against a poor Man Utd.

And all the while the mighty reds just keep quiet, get on with there training then duly go out and win there 6th !
Bill Shankly: “I was the best manager in Britain because I was never devious or cheated anyone. I’d break my wife’s legs if I played against her, but I’d never cheat her.”

Just watched the Sky Sports preview and they mad a bit of a fuss of that, but I'm not buying it. From what I've heard, Rafa keeps everyone guessing until a few hours before.
It's probably Pennant's arrogant streak rearing it's ugly head again in assuming he's going to play.

Thats what i thought. Or it could be Rafa double bluffing, using one of the thicker members of the squad!

I'd bet a tenner that Rafa hasn't told the players wheter they're going to be in the starting eleven or not.

I also heard that he doesn't tell the players until an hour or so before the game. It would be interesting to see how he prepares set pieces and individual strategy, he must Fucking account for every eventuality, when does Rafa sleep?!

I was really confident, then i watched a tv programme showing the best bits of Kaka, Pirlo and Seedorf, and starting getting a rumble in the belly!
Sod it, must watch the CL2005 DVD tomorrow morning, then off to the pub.
Still think it'll be 0-2 to us.

The Milan fans will be scared to play the guys who eliminated Messi's team, the guy that made the wonder Maradona goal recently.

LFC is back.

I've been thinking for the last few weeks that Pennant should play, but today I started thinking otherwise. Sure, he's imporoved massively in attack, but how vunerable would the right side be to attack from Milan. Pennant's not the best defensively. Gerrard would give better cover on the right.
But then that opens up another issue, would Mascherano and Alonso be too defensive in the middle?

Do you know what, I'm just gonna leave it to Rafa to pick the team, cause it's doin' my 'ed in. :D

And for what it's worth, I think Andy Gray's team selection was wrong, I reckon there will be two strikers up front for us - Probably Kuyt and Crouch, with Bellamy coming off the bench to test the aging legs of the Milan defence.

I watched the '05 final this morning. The biggest threat they had was Kaka, Shevchenko and Crespo - they ripped us apart in the first half. Now the two strikers are gone and Mascherano can take care of Kake - It's all sorted mate, don't worry about it.
