Don't you think its sad though how you can't leave your kids in bed whilst you pop for a drink? I can't imagine what the parents are going through but... pray to god that 'maddy' is returned safely!

It's almost too painful to think about, but any parent will tell you what its' like
for a 4 yr old to get to bed.
They need their Mum or Dad to hug and help them get asleep.

This poor girl is probably crying herself to sleep, having nightmares, wetting the bed - the stress she must feel is unbearable to think about.

I find it really hard to even think about because the obvious horrible thoughts go through my mind, i actually feel ill, i keep thinking about how she must be feeling. We live in a sick sick world, i just hope that she has been taken by someone who wanted a child to look after, so at least when she is found, (Please God), she is ok.

Anyone see Question Time tonight when a member from the audience asked why social services are not involved as to why they left this child alone in a hotel more than once?

there are some sick fooks in the world and not just the ones who have taken this poor kid.

today i was in Alder Hey Hospital because one of my kids had to have a muscle biopsy, anyway i was in the room at the side of the theatre where they administer the anesthetic when one of the nurses came in all delighted saying that little maddy had been found alive, as you can probably imagine it spread like wild fire throughout the hospital. about 30 minutes after this news where told its a hoax and from what i was told somebody sent a text to someone in the hospital but i cant confirm this, either way some barsteward started it and should be ashamed of themselves.

there are too many of these kiddie snatchers around that dont get proper punishments when caught, especially in the UK.

To be honest, this whole story has angered me from day one.

First of all, my heart completely goes out to little Maddy, and I just hope that the scenarios we've all played out in our minds aren't accurate, and there's some kind of unexpectedly good ending to this saga.

I have to say though, although I feel for what they're going through, the parents should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. 100 yards away, checking only every half an hour, doors and windows unlocked?

If the two of them weren't well off and eloquent, and the kid wasn't photogenic, all the coverage of this would have a very different complexion. Can you imagine the tabloids being quite so sympathetic if the parents were tracky-wearing doleites from a council flat?

I've just been down the local supermarket, and there are a few missing kids posters in there, one of them aged just 6. The dates on them suggest that they've all been missed for over 12 months. Where's their £2.5m reward money? Where's their tabloid campaign? Where's their video of Beckham pleaing on their behalf for a safe return?

But hey ho, the kids are black and asian, so obviously the nation as a whole cares a lot less about them by default.

There's just nothing good about this whole thing, and whatever the outcome of the search for Maddy, social services should at the very least have a concerned sit down with the parents about what they think constitutes adequate care of their children.

This was posted on b3ta last week, and the guy that posted it got absolutely slaughtered by some people for it. He's completely on the money as far as I'm concerned though.

Once again though, I reiterate - Maddy's in my thoughts and prayers. I just wish the newspapers would bear in mind that there are a hell of a lot of people, not just kids, that should be in everyones thoughts and prayers that they simply never hear about.

These people will find a way no matter what. It is impossible to keep an eye on your child 24/7 whilst trying to live your life at the same time.

You can't lay the blame with the parents in this situation IMO, they were checking the room every half an hour to see if they were OK.

I agree that there are cases where other missing children are given nowhere near as much coverage as this case, it is just a case of the media choosing to report it because of the circumstances surrounding it e.g. the setting of a quiet resort in Praia da Luz in the Algarve, the three year old girl, the fact that their parents had been checking the room.

The only good thing about this is maybe it will heighten the awareness of all those missing children.

It's unfair to say it's because they're wealthy, it's the media who choose to report it, not them. I don't think it makes a great deal of difference if it was a three year old black girl who went missing, it is the circumstances that make it more puzzling than most other cases and that is why the media are choosing to report it.

I don't like the cynical tone of that post whatsoever to be honest, like I said earlier, these people will find a way no matter what.

IMHO i do believe that if the parents were just regular people from a council estate the press coverage would have been very different.
I also believe that these parents should be spoken to about why they left their children alone, half an hour is a long time for a child.
Personally, even though i agree that it is hard work keeping an eye on your children, i don't believe it is impossible. My two girls are either with me, other members of my family, people who i trust completely, or at school/nursery - they are always in someones sight.
Saying that however, it is a sad fact that these sick people do always find a way if they want your child- i believe America has the right idea when it comes to paedophiles, either castrate them or tattoo "PERVERT" across their foreheads so everyone knows what they are.
Hopefully though, she is not with any of those, maybe a childless couple who want children as the other doesn't bear thinking about.

God bless Maddie, i hope you find your way home soon.

can you imagine if the girl was from a single parent family from a sh*tty housing estate in Liverpool?

its mad when you see how many missing children there are. Families of missing kids watching this unfold on the one hand know what the parents are going through and want the kid found but then they see the 2.5 million reqrad when no one is doing squat for other kids.

Just hope shes found safe and well.

My mum phoned me from England on Saturday, and told me that the little girl was spotted by a couple in Morrocco. Is this right ?

Apparently she was in a the back of a car with another woman near a petrol station or something, and the woman who spotted her said she was 99% sure it was Maddy ???

The woman said she is convinced it was her in Morrocco last week in a petrol station, could have been because 38 ferry go there every day from the Spanish border.

I dont think she will ever be found again its to long now and no sign what so ever.

Mate i am sorry but thats b'llocks.

Ok fair enough you cant keep your eye on children 24/7 but you can make sure you dont go out leaving them alone in a hot foreign country.

Irresponsible isnt a strong enough word.

I just hope so much they dont pay the ultimate price and never see her again.
