In the Guardian:

Ancelotti wary of limited Reds

Milan's coach Carlo Ancelotti believes Liverpool's technical limitations will make them more dangerous opponents in the Champions League final than Manchester United, whom his team brushed aside in the semi-finals.
Ancelotti, whose side are desperate to banish the memory of their defeat by Liverpool in Istanbul two years ago, said he regards next Wednesday's opponents as technically the weakest of the Premiership's top three clubs.

"Of the three English [Champions League semi-finalists] I would have preferred Manchester [United] in the final," he said. "Partly because we got a view of them in the semi-final both at Old Trafford and San Siro and partly because they [United] are a technical squad who play and let you play. I don't get the feeling that will be the case with Liverpool."

Ancelotti regards Liverpool's defensive strength and organisation as unusual for an English team and is not expecting a match as open as the 2005 final, which his side lost on penalties after a 3-3 draw.
"Two years ago Milan was suffering from fatigue and now all the players are in great shape," he said. "Liverpool are very organised and have an extraordinary capacity for concentration. Milan is a strong Italian team; even if it has foreigners it has a strong Italian culture. Liverpool does not have the DNA of the English - it is more a Mediterranean kind of team."

Ancelotti is boosted by the likely availability of his captain, Paolo Maldini. "I think he can play because he is doing specific training for his knee," he said.

If Maldini isn't fit for the final Rafa should play Crouch as both Nesta and Kaladze are poor in the air.

cant be bothered reading the thread back so apologies if this has already been posted.

the presentation of the trophy next wednesday will not be in the centre of the pitch, according to uefa the trophy will be presented in the VIP section in the stands, therefore depriving some supporters a view of the presentation.

I've just read that article on another site.
It makes me laugh that he says we have lost the DNA of an English club. Does Ancelotti know are history? That's exactly why we've been so successful. We started our most prolific period of success by playing a more cultured brand of football to the rest of the country. That's why we have been more successful on the continent than any other English club. That's why we won (on average) a major European trophy every other year between 1973 and 1984. That's why we're in the final this year and Chelsea, Manure and Arsenal aren't.

That's why we're Liverpool Football Club.

By the way Carlo, it's a bit of a no brainer for you to say you'd prefer Manure in the final after battering them enroute to the final. We want PSV   :D

Jose move aside.. Here comes another n0b head, wind up merchant, more interested in playing mind games than getting on with the game.

Carlo Ancelotti has claimed a UEFA Champions League final against Manchester United would make for a much more spectacular showpiece.

Milan will play Liverpool in Athens next week in a repeat of the 2005 final which The Reds won on penalties after coming back from three goals down.

Ahead of the game, Ancelotti has branded Rafa Benitez's side the 'worst' of the English clubs in this season's competition.

The Rossoneri chief has come out in criticism of Liverpool's style, believing the Champions League final could prove a let down for the spectators.

"On a technical level, they are the worst of the three English teams to reach this season's semi-finals," Ancelotti is quoted in The Sun.

"But that does not mean I'd have chosen to be playing them in next week's final. I would have preferred Manchester United.

"One of the reasons is because we all saw how the semi-final went for Milan, both at Old Trafford and in the San Siro.

"I also believe it would have made a better final in Athens because United are a technical team who play good football and also let the opposition play.

"I don't believe the same thing will happen with Liverpool."

Ancelotti also hit out at the Anfield club for relying on too many foreigners rather than sticking with British talent that served them so well in the past.

"Milan will always have a strong Italian quality because, even with foreigners like Kaka and Seedorf, we remain true to our influences, philosophy and beliefs," he said.

"But Liverpool don't have any English DNA anymore. They are more like a Mediterranean team and that comes from their coach."
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

 These arrogant sh*ts talk too much - of course they would rather face the Manc rif raf  - cos they know it's gonna be hard against us and when his team run out of steam (no legs) in the 2nd half, he knows his choices are limited. Tactically too he can't change it around much.

Stevie G said that evry temain Europe would fear playing us  :buttrock read the fear

Harry and Craig compete for the left wing role in the final. Notice how Harry does a no-neck impression of Bellamy. :D

Ripped off Liverpool way
